Did anyone negotiate with the 2nd offer they received? I just got a scholarship offer form UChicago, that is higher than GTown's 2nd offer (though not by that much), and wanted to know how much that would effect their offer since UChicago is ranked higher then them?

+1. Keep negotiating until they have Andy tell you that is the highest they will go. Then, ask for more.Hand wrote:They will care.Paulaaxox wrote:Did anyone negotiate with the 2nd offer they received? I think it depends on what you're negotiating - merit aid and need-based aid appear to be determined separately by different departments.AMajorChord wrote:negotiations to hotline or financial aid or both? sorry i've perused and can't find the answer

I'm assuming that means fin aid is fin aid and merit is admissions. Thanks, m'friendthreatlevelmidnight wrote:I think it depends on what you're negotiating - merit aid and need-based aid appear to be determined separately by different departments.AMajorChord wrote:negotiations to hotline or financial aid or both? sorry i've perused and can't find the answer

If I had known about it earlier then I would have taken off an additional day to attend the SCOTUS tour.UpstateXO wrote:Hi all, is anyone attending the admitted students weekend and Supreme Court visit next week??

Yeah, I had to ask for another day off of work in order to attend. Anyone want to share which hotel they're staying at? Everything I've found seems to be ridiculously expensive or so inconvenient I might as well stay outside of DC near a metro station. I was hoping to stay nearby and get the full DC experience though.JeanLucPicard wrote:If I had known about it earlier then I would have taken off an additional day to attend the SCOTUS tour.UpstateXO wrote:Hi all, is anyone attending the admitted students weekend and Supreme Court visit next week??

Not sure what the rates are for the next ASW, but I went to the one in January and stayed at the Hyatt right down the street. With the GULC discount, it wasn't super pricey (but January is off-season, so I'm not sure), and it was really nice and extremely convenient.UpstateXO wrote:Yeah, I had to ask for another day off of work in order to attend. For January's Open House, all I had to do was call the Hyatt with this corporate number: 58549. It's 10-20% off, depending on the type of room you book. If you go to the FAQ for the Open Houses on the Admitted Students Website, it has the "special rates" for local hotels.daisrt wrote:There's a GULC discount???? News to me. I checked in on the discount and the cheapest you can get is still like $400. I live in Baltimore, but still don't want to do that round trip drive twice. Looking at Airbnb places now - if anyone is down to go splits on a multi-bed place within walking/metro distance to save some $$, let me know!thelincolnlawyer wrote:I'll be at the ASD on April 8!daisrt wrote:There's a GULC discount???? Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2019
Hi! Recently admitted via ASW so I have yet to access any info about the upcoming open house. I would like to attend if possible and am trying to look up flights since it is already so last minute. Can anyone provide some insight about what time things start on Thursday the 31st?
