What schools are people deciding between?

Berkeley with $$ and CLS (haven't heard about fin aid).

Oh god Berkeley just moved my acceptance deadline forward a full week so now I have to accept by tomorrow. Haven't heard anything from Columbia about financial aid and I've called a few times already over the past two weeks. Any advice?!

Does Berkeley's offer specifically stipulate that you have to withdraw from other schools?

They moved it UP? Why?

My informal email said 4/29 and the formal letter said 4/22, so I called and asked which one it was. It's tomorrow. I emailed asking for an extension but who knows

I called earlier this morning and was told they would call me back. I don't want to be annoying but you're right, I need to call again.

I'm sure people are in the same position as I am... but NYU's financial aid offer expires for me today, and they would not give me an extension. Calling Columbia (many times) just resulted in them saying that I would receive my information sometime today or tomorrow. I assume it's not coming today since it's almost 5pm... -.-

NYU's intent to enroll requires that I withdraw from other schools that I've been accepted to. Should I just submit a deposit? What will happen if I don't withdraw from my other schools? What will happen if I don't go? Ach freaking out a little bit here

For me it's basically CLS at sticker (also going PI) or not going to lawl school at all. Also riding out a few WLs currently.

This is me also, I'm riding on some waitlists but I'm only in at CLS. I'm a liberal arts major who doesn't really have other career options due to a variety of circumstances. Planning on BigLaw though, followed by PI (Maybe 5-6 years in BigLaw and 4-5 on LRAP). I know a lot of associates personally and the life doesn't seem as horrifically awful as it's made out to be on TLS.

Make sure you read the LRAP requirements carefully. That plan fits with their structure as of now but things are subject to change

Also, has anyone applied for housing yet? If so, I had a quick question - during admitted students weekend the current students said to include all of your preferences in the application e.g. saying that you wanted an elevator or preferred a small bedroom close to campus over a bigger one farther away from campus. I did not see any space to discuss those preferences. Do you know where they might have put that in? Maybe they changed the app but I didn't think that was likely. Thanks!

Hey guys - I know this is a bit odd to do here, but I found out recently that my roommate will be moving out over the summer (I think start of July). I live about 30 blocks north of the law school (about a five minute commute on the subway, I've been told there are busses in this city, and it's walkable in about 20 minutes when it's nice out). I'm a big fan of my neighborhood, and based on what I've seen from the law school, my apartment has bigger living spaces (although its just a 2BR, so probably smaller in square footage) and is around $400-500/month cheaper than the law school housing. If you have any interest to move in over the summer or at the start of the semester, hit me up and let's talk.

Bumping this since I'm seeing more people committing and discussing housing. Forgot to clarify in the above post - I'm a guy and would prefer to live with a guy.

Just got an offer of Zero Dollars from Columbia today after getting 75K at NYU and 90K at Chicago.
How should I make them aware of this aid, and what are the chances that they will increase my scholarship?

I had the same thing happen to me. Luckily, I've already committed elsewhere. Just officially withdrew, but good luck!

Do they give out aid offers in waves or just spread them out? In other words, if I didn't get any word today will I have to wait for the next "group of people" to get an offer?
