I did a nice bag of coffee, a mug with something relevant to the writer, and a handwritten note for each of the ones in the US. Likely doing something similar for the people who wrote wait list letters, but still figuring that out.
My old manager who did one of mine is from the bay area but moved to Seattle, so I made her a basket of local booze, snacks, and treats. I'm planning on doing something similar for my teacher who did the other, but I have to figure out if I can send booze to his office on campus or if that means visiting in person during his weird office hours.

I'm having a party soon for my birthday, and put together a playlist entirely of hits from 2004-2008 or so. I'm so incredibly excited for 8 hours of nostalgia.

If anyone wants to take a look and tell me what I'm missing, I'd appreciate it.

I gave a bottle of nice booze with a handwritten thank you card to each of my mine, once I got my first woo-worthy offer.

Both are former commanders of mine, and they 100% insisted upon not giving them anything in return. I figure I'll send them some swag from wherever I end up along with a local wine for one and some beer for the other. That way it's more "check out what you helped me accomplish" and less "hey thanks for doing that thing here's what I owe you".

I like the idea of giving LOR writers a school-specific thank you. Any ideas on good things to do this with? I'm guessing my professors and old boss already have decent mugs, and they probably don't need a law school shirt haha.

Thinking a nice pen or paperweight? Maybe a travel mug instead of one for their desk? The school's official chocolate gift box?! I don't know what people want or need :(

I'm planning on mug mostly because I firmly believe that one can never have too many mugs.

I don't know that I own a mug. But then, I don't drink coffee except for late night driving :?

Worth the investment to do at home? The kitchen at the place I'm moving to is very small and I'm thinking pour over and french press with reduce counter space taken up by my drip machine.

Eh, if you're super into pourover then sure, but I think you're fine with just the french press.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
