anxiously already trying to book flights for the ASW this weekend--anyone know what time it starts (I assume Friday)???
Check in is at 8:00am on Friday
Thanks! Any idea when it's over? I'd really appreciate it!!!!
It looks like most of the substantive information ends at about 4:30 but there is stuff going on until after 10:30pm on Friday.
On Saturday, it ends at 5:30.

Hi friends! Just admitted today

Are the ASWs April 1/2 and 15/16? Are there any others, and are those correct?

The first is correct, the second is 16/17 though. There aren't any others.
The 1/2 ASW is closed for registration, fyi.

Have any fellow recent admits reached out yet about registering for this weekend? I would hope there's some flexibility.

I didn't really know what to expect. My situation is probably a little unusual: I'm old enough that my parents' assets are counted at a reduced rate, but I also have some assets of my own that probably made a difference. I plan to ask at ASW whether I might be able to expect something for 2L and 3L years, when I'll be so old that my parents won't be counted at all. My guess is the answer will be no.

New admit checking in!
This might have been asked before, but how long did it take for everyone's status to change / to receive the initial emails?

I'm in a similar situation - expecting my package in a week or so. Do you have siblings in college/grad school? I have two, which I think will get me at least a modest grant award.

I have no siblings.
I guess the surprising part to me was just that they reduced my parents' assessment by 75 percent and still decided that they had too much money to give me a grant. And my parents are far from rich. Oh well...

Just noticed the second ASW is during the weekend before marathon Monday - for those not familiar - book a hotel as soon as possible and be ready to be fleeced...and if you're leaving Monday make sure to check the marathon route and be ready to drive around it!

Checking in!!! Hoping to join y'all this weekend since I don't think I'll be able to make it to the second! JS said they should be able to add us last minute admits so I'm hoping it'll work out!

I'm a little surprised that HLS isn't providing housing with current students. In any case, I live close to HLS and am not in town for the 16/17 ASW, and would be happy to hook a sister up with housing for those dates. You'd need to be willing to Skype with me beforehand to arrange details and prove that you're not a sketchy human, but I'd love to help.
Thanks! That is an extremely generous offer, but I should be covered. I went to BC for undergrad so I will probably crash either with one of my buddies living off campus or one who ended up staying in Boston. Maybe someone else that finds themselves in a pinch will be able to take advantage - otherwise you can make a killing on airbnb that weekend for marathon visitors!

PSA to new admits: if you're going to the second ASW it is on Saturday, April 16th and Sunday, April 17th, NOT Friday and Saturday. Double check your reservations as you rush to make them! This may or may not come from personal experience.

Is it absolutely necessary to live in Cambridge during your 1L year? My boyfriend and I don't think we can't afford that rent right now.
