Thanks for the quick response!Lavitz wrote:Yes, but very few do. Fork & Gavel and Fork and Gavel Express are in Myron Taylor Hall. The website says F&G is closed for renovations until September, then mentions something about a mini version in the atrium, which I cannot fathom. No idea if renovations are supposed to continue past September. Pretty sure F&G took BRB, not sure about Express.Bouvant wrote:Do any law students sign up for meal plans? Also, is the cafe still in Myron Taylor Hall? Can you use BRBs at the cafe in the law school? Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't recommend a meal plan. Pretty much guaranteed to not use all your meals.

If you're under 26 and on your parents' insurance, sure.Bouvant wrote:Lavitz,

Hi there, I intend to waive my health insurance for this year, but I need my student ID in order to do so. Have we received this yet/where can I locate this? Thanks!

When you register for your NetID you get your student ID. If you haven't received the letter with instructions for doing that, you should probably contact admissions.biddymulligan wrote:Hi there, I intend to waive my health insurance for this year, but I need my student ID in order to do so. I got an email, no letter (and the email is only about my NetID). However, if you log in to Cornell's Student Center (Google it), your student ID should be under Demographic Data.cantexplaingottago wrote:When you register for your NetID you get your student ID. Sorry for the vague question, but what do I need to do in terms of receiving my loan money this fall?
I swear I remember an email about this and now I can't find it. I've already received my financial award letter, I'm just talk about making sure the loans get disbursed come August.

Complete entrance counseling/promissory notes at the Federal Aid website and submit the federal loan application to Cornell. There's also a new student checklist among the links on the left side of the admitted student site, which is also useful.lowlands wrote:Sorry for the vague question, but what do I need to do in terms of receiving my loan money this fall?

Also, when I calculated the cost per meal, it was cheaper to get Big Red Bucks and pay as you go than get a meal plan.Bouvant wrote:Thanks for the quick response!Lavitz wrote:Yes, but very few do. Anyone else get the email about the Academic Orientation Program from 8/14 to 8/18? Is this supposed to be different from the orientation listed on the admitted students website?

Didn't get the email myself, but a quick search indicates it's a separate program right before JD orientation for students who submitted diversity statements and/or URMs (I am neither).MrChicken wrote:Anyone else get the email about the Academic Orientation Program from 8/14 to 8/18? Thanks for finding that out. Looks like it's optional.Tycho wrote:Didn't get the email myself, but a quick search indicates it's a separate program right before JD orientation for students who submitted diversity statements and/or URMs (I am neither).MrChicken wrote:Anyone else get the email about the Academic Orientation Program from 8/14 to 8/18? Last year, it was just before orientation, so a couple weeks yet I'd think.mattf27 wrote:Any idea when schedules come out?

Is there any way to confirm that Cornell has everything that they need from me? For example, my official student transcript or my dean certification form. Should I call or email someone in particular, or should I assume that they'd have reached out to me by now if they were missing something?

Application status checker! Yes, that one. From when you first applied.hopefuljumbo23 wrote:Is there any way to confirm that Cornell has everything that they need from me? Anyone have a sense for what we should wear to orientation?

I'd wear a button down and a nice pair of jeans. If your orientation is like mine, you'll get your photo taken, but it's a headshot, so the most anyone will ever see of your outfit is your collar. You'll also have lunch with a professor, and there you won't want to look like a slob. Really, the only reason you should dress up at all is because everyone else inevitably will, and you don't want to feel out of place. I think a button down and jeans, if you're a guy, is fine, or chinos if it's hot and you want something a bit more breathable.burritoface wrote:Anyone have a sense for what we should wear to orientation?

So did I! I cheated a little, since the courses were listed on Blackboard this morning.HALT_REPTAR wrote:Just got my schedule!

As a reminder, people can cross-reference their lawyering section with the letter sections on this list: https://support.law.cornell.edu/student ... hedule.pdf
