I requested one over the weekend. No response yet. I just called their office. The person who answered said she wasn't in charge of it so she took my info down and said she would let the person who handles it know that I needed an urgent response.

I have a feeling that they are. My letter about my grant said that extensions would if "others waiting to hear back about scholarships will not be adversely affected by providing you with an extension" among other things. So I think they are waiting until we respond to see what type of pool of money they are looking at who has denied/accepted offers and then offering money and maybe acceptances to more people.

Also requested one over the weekend. I'm probably going to call soon as well. Let me know if they get back to you!

Been emailing them some more, was told that "the next wave" of financial aid will be released on April 11. Not sure how much weight to place on this statement, at this juncture I am taking it with a shot of rum and a pound of salt.

You're doing the Lord's work, getting that answer out of them. Have a shot on me.

Thank you so much!!! Last time it seems like info showed up on CalCentral on a Thursday and then people got offers on Monday... so hopefully some news tomorrow?

I just need it to be tomorrow. I don't think I can make it through another weekend of not knowing.

Kind of freaking out- I just declared my tentative intent to enroll- I thought doing so before the deadline would just serve to reiterate my interest and maybe push them to make a financial aid offer- but the confirmation email says that one of my next steps is to accept the financial aid offer on CalCentral. Do you guys think this was huge mistake on my part?

I did the same thing. I don't think it's a big deal. It doesn't seem like declaring is anything more than saying I'm still interested but I'm still waiting on financial aid, especially since there's no required deposit, and those next steps seem to be for when you are no longer tentatively enrolling but know affirmatively you want to enroll. Like it says "what happens next once you declare your final intent to enroll."

Thanks for your response! This wait for financial aid info is making me so neurotic.

Haha same :x I just don't think they're going to read into anything about my tentative intent when they know they haven't sent me any financial aid info.

For those of you who have committed to (or intend to) Berkeley, you can set up a guest account on Cal Rentals (https://och.berkeley.edu/) to look for roommates or apartments. You have to choose to sign up as a guest and then you'll receive an email from the Cal Rentals office asking for verification of your affiliation. Just reply to the email with a PDF of your acceptance email. I had about a 24 hour turnaround from the time I received the email asking for verification to being approved.

Wow, I did this and definitely never heard back. Should I try and reach out again?

Yes, I requested an extension on Tuesday and they replied on Friday.

I requested one over the weekend. No response yet. I just called their office. The person who answered said she wasn't in charge of it so she took my info down and said she would let the person who handles it know that I needed an urgent response.
Also requested one over the weekend. I'm probably going to call soon as well. Let me know if they get back to you!
So there's still been no reply  I'm not ready and the deadline is tomorrow! I can't believe they haven't replied back.

Try sending an email directly to a person in the office, rather than to the general financial aid email address. I got a pretty quick response that way.

Did you send it to Kristin Alvarez? Or who did you send it to?

I would CC Dean Tom as well. I was talking to him at an event in my area and he said to email him so he could push them to respond by the deadline

Yep - sent it to Kristin. CC-ing Dean Tom probably isn't a bad idea either.
