Is this true, or am I missing some kind of catch?
On LIPP's website: "Graduates may enter LIPP at any time after graduation if their job, debt, and income qualify"
Where did you read this?
Doesn't LIPP at Harvard consider your assets?
How likely is it to go from biglaw corporate to PI/gov?
LIPP considers assets above a certain threshold. I don't know the exact cutoff, but you can still qualify for LIPP after corporate law, depending on your income to loan debt ratio and whatever assets you have above the threshold.
The threshold for protected assets is very low. If you save a "nest egg" while in Biglaw, you would almost certainly be far above that limit.

The cutoff is $10,000 plus $8,000 per year you worked after college before law school and each year you work after graduation. Includes retirement (50% of vested plans)Includes spouse assets but cutoff doubles.
Like I said, get advice from the actual experts at Harvard before assuming this plan.

I take it they removed the option to stay on campus during ASW? I'm not seeing it on the website, just a list of hotels.
Also, is the 2 weeks for your preliminary SFS offer pretty accurate or more the worst case scenario? Ten business days will put me right at the first day of ASW or that following Monday and I'd love to have an idea of finances going into it.

This was definitely already answered somewhere, but in my state of laziness I figured I'd ask... anyone know when our initial deposit is due, aka how long we have to decide?

I hope they realize the many flaws in that potential plan.

I would guess it depends on how busy they are at the time you submit and how complicated you and your parents finances are. I went complete on Tuesday and when I spoke to Dean Lafler he told me it to expect a decision in about two weeks and if I don't hear back by the end of that week to give them a call but that he would be shocked if it wasn't complete by then

Just got my provisional financial aid offer back. Trying to put it in some perspective: Does anybody know what the max grant aid HLS offers?

If I understand it correctly, max for a single individual with no dependents should be whatever you owe after the mandatory $45,000 loan. So, if you take out the standard $88,600 COA, max aid would be $43,600 for the year.
I could definitely be wrong though and it changes in ways I am unaware of if you're married and/or have kids, etc.

Did it take the full 2 weeks to get back or did it come sooner?

Just got my award. Does anybody know what Harvard's max need based grant is? Just want to ask to compare it to the aid package I received.

I think it would be $43,600 (as Gamerish said) considering the baseline 45k loan one has to take on.
About how long did it take by the way?

Awesome! I'm satisfied with my aid package, and this makes Harvard a top choice... Maybe even if I were to get the AnBryce?

I wonder if they discontinued them when that committee recommended that HLS change the shield?
That or they just ran out, but I love to speculate.

Mine took about 6 business days.
Max loan that has to be taken out is 48000 this year. COA is approximately 88000 including insurance and 85000 without it. So it for someone not needing to buy insurance I think the max grant amount is 37970.
