Searching for housing is not very fun. Especially when only 1 out of every 5 places I contact actually answer the phone/respond to emails.

edit to make it on topic: I'm doing this while at work.

So frustrating. Are you doing this from out of town too?

heheh. I mean...technically yes. But I wouldn't consider myself in the same position as many other individuals (I'm only like 25-30 minutes away...basically the next "town" over)

30 mins still makes it kind of inconvenient to like.. go by the leasing office on your lunch, etc.

Oh yes. This for sure. My SO actually works pretty close to where we're looking to live and this is our convo every time it comes up:

SO: "can we not go see a place or two this week?"
Me: "when?"
SO: "idk. during your lunch break?"
Me: "So I drive 30 minutes out there, just to turn around and come back?"

Granted, I can actually take longer than an hour for lunch because lol [see: thread title], but still that's annoying AF.

I already told my office I'd be leaving the last week of July and that they need to get moving on hiring.

My students in second period had an argument about who I looked like.

"Ryan Gosling in the Notebook"
Image

"Daniel Bryan, the wrestler, if he had short hair" (had no idea who this was)
Image

"That Nazi sniper guy from Inglourious Basterds" (Daniel Bruhl)
Image

"Henrik Zetterberg, you look like you could be his brother"
Image

In the end, it was decided that they might just be racist and think that all white guys with beards look alike, but a substantial contingent maintained that I look just like Ryan Gosling in the Notebook, and that's all that matters in my life right now.

I told them... when I took the job, ha .
I would say a month to two months, depending on your relationship with your bosses. Also if you think you'll need to be involved in training/hiring people, give them longer. We've already hired my functional replacement and plan to hire an additional paralegal closer to when I leave. I framed/pitched it to them as a transition period where I would be a resource to the new people. They know I'm not going to do much my last couple of weeks 8)

Still really mad about my shoulder injury. I was going to start training/coaching at a boxing gym in town and I had to hold off for another month because of it. One of the guys I was going to coach has his first fight at the end of May so he ended up going with a different coach who is better at conditioning than teaching striking/the fight mindset.
