this is all very exciting and cool
.
I am interested in moving in July 1st, do you all think it is too early to start dealing with apartment people in Nashville? I was thinking maybe that I should wait to apply for apartments until the middle of May, about 6 weeks prior to the move in.

I think it depends what you're looking for. A lot of the complexes have waiting lists because July is super busy. I think several people on here have already booked apartments for early July. If you're going the craigslist route or further out you probably have more time though.do_me_a_favor wrote:this is all very exciting and cool.

I'd call around and see if you can either sign a lease or get on the waiting lists, it couldn't hurt. I just got mine this past week, moving in July 10th or sodo_me_a_favor wrote:this is all very exciting and cool.

That sounds cool. I'm going to DC for a month for a fellowship. Besides that I might go on a road trip somewhere.janderson821 wrote:My husband and I are just going on a cruise right after we quit our jobs and before we move.SirArthurDayne wrote:Thanks! I got on a waiting list for July after the March ASD.
A couple of weeks later, I received an email stating that the tenants of the apartment I wanted decided to move out early, so I'll be there mid-June. I don't think it's too early at all to start the process. Even back in March, there were lots of people out looking.

Has everyone started the apartment hunt in earnest already? Am I totally screwed for August? Way too used to the NYC market where you can't even start looking until like three weeks before moving...

I moved to Nashville without a place. Booked a hotel and on my third day I moved into a nice place. You def don't need to be looking now.lurker816 wrote:Has everyone started the apartment hunt in earnest already? Am I totally screwed for August? Honestly at the rate they are building new apartments here I don't see how there would ever be a shortage. Also, doubt you could find many places that would be ok with you moving in more than a month from signing the lease.mist4bison wrote:This is so reassuring. So glad to see your responses, friend. Because I had similar worries. I am looking to move in July 1st no sooner. I'll be out in Nashville next week to observe buildings and maybe tour some buildings, and then probably come back in mid/late May to get a lease signed some place. This is the most nerve-wracking part of the process for me, though, lol.

lol trust me, relax. I on the other hand am moving to NYC in August and have only been to the city once, which was last weekend. Finding housing there seems like total hell, and I have near panic attacks thinking about itdo_me_a_favor wrote: This is the most nerve-wracking part of the process for me, though, lol.

Just found out that my scholarship funding was shuffled a bit, and I was given a small additional award! To be clear, this wasn't a renegotiation, but something else. Very awesome, and potentially a game changer

Has anyone receive their ASW reimbursement? Or are they probably waiting to send them all out at once?

I visited independently in late March, so as I think about it, I could get mine when the April visit gets theirs, if the office waits to send them all at once. The Abyss wrote:Which ASP did you attend?stillplayspokemon wrote:Has anyone receive their ASW reimbursement? Seriously? What are you waiting for?
