Attending Columbia is a dream and I/my family really doesn't have the money to finance this. I'm sort of heartbroken right now.
Sorry to hear that.

Does no money come via email and some money come via mail?
Can confirm no - I received a $0 offer via snail mail, no email.
That's so rude

So awards can come via snail mail OR email? It's not like I was already stressed checking my mailbox every day. :? I actually got a letter from Columbia yesterday...but it was just a welcome letter from a student group. It would've been great at any other time EXCEPT while I'm also waiting for financial aid. Ugh.

Also, these $0 offers are ridiculous. I'm really sorry to hear about that, people. I hope the appeals go well!

I have been annoying and calling them regarding deadlines. I would expect most via snail mail.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. Best of luck with the appeal!

I love that it was actually scanned instead of saved to PDF. There's something quaint about the entire process.

Maybe this is obvious but who did you call the financial aid office or the admissions office?

Thanks!

Just called the FA office and was told I'm still in review and should ask for extensions from other schools if their deadlines are approaching. Frustrating and disheartening.

Does anyone know if the tuition grants that have come out have been entirely need-based or include merit? I have received conflicted information, and my letter isn't clear about the grounds on which the decision was made. I'm wondering if I can use the letter to negotiate with a school that provided $0 in need-based aid.

Did you guys fax in your tax returns? I just got admitted and I'm worried there's no chance I'll get my aid amount by the Deposit deadline.

I sent mine last week and plan on calling them tomorrow to see if they need anything else.
