I'm sorry to hear that. Do you mind sharing when you submitted your match, and from where?
plz, if u want, but no pressure, also give a general idea of your stats, and, if you wish, how much the amount was -- ballpark

I had a full named scholly from a school in B's neighborhood. I'm above B's GPA median and above their 75th LSAT. Also, I'm AA URM. Their message was abundantly clear...go elsewhere, Flip!

Maybe you're just so fantastic that they thought they just weren't good enough for you? (Is there such a thing as YP financial aid?)

Has anyone received an email regarding scholarships that are non-matching related?

If I didn't believe it to be a thing before I'd be more inclined to now...

For those that are (like me) waiting to see what Berkeley is offering first before submitting for matching...are you now submitting for matching or still holding out?

I was a hold out, but I finally submitted my matching a day or so ago. Waiting around for them to make a decision wasn't going so well for me. I honestly can't believe they have a mid-April deadline, but still have not given out definite scholarship info to everyone..

I was planning on waiting but couldn't wait any longer with deposit deadlines coming up. Submitted my matching request yesterday.

Has anyone asked for an extension on the deadline to accept a scholarship/offer of admission? If so, what did you request as your new deadline and how did they respond?

Some info finally displaying, but it seems primarily related to their having processed my FAFSA. Hoping this $0 in gift aid ain't final - if so, game over. Anyone have an idea how to read the info under "Financial Aid and Scholarships Profile"? Where it says things like packaged, etc.

^^Also, just read a bunch of last year's thread - they seem to issue a lot of matching "holds", and drag the damn thing out for the whole month. So, strap in y'all. Gonna be a bumpy ride.

Yes, I requested an extension of about two weeks, and they granted it within a few days. PM for more details.

Alright.... So I'm getting a little inpatient on this scholarship info. I have a deadline in two weeks for another school and I can't really even begin to truly weigh my options until I hear from Berkeley on financial aid. I submitted a matching scholarship application over a month ago. Does anyone know if it would be inappropriate to reach out to Berkeley financial aid and emphasize the time sensitivity of my situation? Or would this be frowned upon? I just can't really stand to watch my deadline for another school come closer and closer without having any financial aid information from Berkeley to weigh my options. Any advice is appreciated.

I think it would be appropriate to make them aware of the deadline, as long as you are polite about it.
I would just call and say that you're following up on your matching scholarship request, that you just wanted to make them aware that you have a deadline for another school on April 15, and while you understand that they must be very busy you wanted to know if there is any way it would be possible to get an idea of what your financial aid package might look like before then. And that you're very excited about Berkeley and such.

If you feel particularly inclined, mention that they could release initial scholarship offers too... that would be great....
But in all seriousness, let us know how it goes! Good luck!

Has anyone who initially had $0 in Gift Aid and who has not submitted a matching scholarship seen any movement? Or are we all still at $0?

I'm still at $0. This wait for financial aid info is honestly more unbearable than the wait for admission was.

Still waiting on scholarship info as well. I was a really late app/admit (applied 1/31 in 3/7) so idk if the timing corresponds, but I haven't heard anything about scholarships.

Echoing that the scholarship wait is frustrating. Berkeley is the only piece I'm missing, and it's been a long haul.

Did anyone else just get an email reminding them of the April 15th response deadline? I'm worried that this means that $0 in aid is their final offer for me.

Yep. In response, I sent them a reminder that they haven't released financial aid information yet. Oh, Berkeley.
Maybe this is a sign it will be released later today? Can we speculate wildly on this?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
