I know someone who did their 2L SA interview season and worked through the summer just using a clear retainer. You can also probably get away with a beard for OCI/interviews/etc, it just can't be unruly.capricasixx wrote:I feel you guys... I'm enjoying my nose ring for awhile longer. Interesting... I dunno, I've looked at those and they still seem fairly visible to me. I guess I'd rather play it safe than risk limiting my options because of peoples' preconceived notions or even subconscious biases. But I will miss channeling the spirits of '90s alt rocker chicks.slippin_jimmy wrote:I know someone who did their 2L SA interview season and worked through the summer just using a clear retainer. Should the face tattoo say "BITCH," or just an X in the middle of my forehead like Charlie Manson?

I don't know if I could go smoothface, but right now I look like a lumberjack who wandered into a forest, took a nap for two months, and woke up with a moss/beard hybrid.benwyatt wrote:Can't shave, won't shave.

I gave up my body piercings over the last few years, but (based on my experience) you probably won't have to 100% give up channeling 90s alt rocker chicks if you're willing to take it out for interviews and put it back in later. Nose piercings, if you've had it for awhile, don't heal quickly and I was usually able to go a couple days to a week at a time without one in and it didn't close and I didn't have any issues.capricasixx wrote:

Idea: can we have a beard PW day when all the boys in the thread show off their scruff every weekBirdLawExpert wrote:ssitt wrote:and it is beautifulBirdLawExpert wrote:I don't know if I could go smoothface, but right now I look like a lumberjack who wandered into a forest, took a nap for two months, and woke up with a moss/beard hybrid.benwyatt wrote:Can't shave, won't shave.

I keep my scruff reasonably well trimmed because I think it would otherwise be detrimental to my dating life.capricasixx wrote: Idea: can we have a beard PW day when all the boys in the thread show off their scruff every week

Real talk though the right woman should love your scruff and make a place for it in your relationshipBirdLawExpert wrote:benwyatt wrote:I keep my scruff reasonably well trimmed because I think it would otherwise be detrimental to my dating life.capricasixx wrote: Idea: can we have a beard PW day when all the boys in the thread show off their scruff every week

Don't get me wrong, I'm plenty beardy, but between going on a lot of first dates lately and having all kinds of law school stuff, I've maintained a professional level of scruff as opposed to my usual winter lumberjack length.

All of this beard talk is just making me not want to shave, despite wanting to look professional for the visit. If UVA doesn't love bearded me, do they love the real me?

Question for you doods and doodettes who also have yet to make a final decision - are you joining the admitted students' Facebook groups for the schools you're considering? I'm interested in creepin' on my potential classmates but I don't know if it's weird to join and then leave the group if I decide against going there. What's the etiquette?

Open to all admitted students! Join away. I saw questions in some that were clearly intended to help make a decision.capricasixx wrote:Question for you doods and doodettes who also have yet to make a final decision - are you joining the admitted students' Facebook groups for the schools you're considering?
