Has any recent admit received anything?? What was the turnaround?Basically there is no hope.
oi vey. That's good to know. Gonna take their answers with a pound of salt and a bottle of rum.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2019
I was admitted about a week ago, but had filled out NeedAccess and FAFSA long before and just received financial aid notification today. Does anyone know if this award only including need based aid mean I won't be getting any merit based aid? I know Georgetown's was totally separate, so just want to know if I should hold out hope.

As far as I know, NYU doesn't differentiate between the two when they send out scholarship information. So if you received an offer letter, that should represent the total amount of scholarship money that you're going to receive based on both your merit and need.anonymous117 wrote:I was admitted about a week ago, but had filled out NeedAccess and FAFSA long before and just received financial aid notification today. Did you get a response on negotiating from them?KiltedKicker wrote:They are email. I received an initial decision from them in the first wave and then tried to negotiate, noting that I had an April 1st response deadline from another school. My fear with some schools is that you will snail mail something out before the deadline but I won't get it.darlenealderson wrote:I'm not the first poster in this chain but I'll say that both like 2ish weeks ago when I asked about something else and on Monday I got the same vague answer of "you'll hear in the coming days." I mentioned in my more recent e-mail the timeline issue and they didn't respond at all to that element of my message. Additionally at ASW Dean Kleinrock basically said that they won't necessarily get you your offer before other schools' deadlines...and that they don't really give a crap that that's an issue.ih8makingscreennames wrote:Did you inform NYU of your timeline?YCDAACH wrote:I'm still waiting to hear back from NYU about financial aid even though Boalt wants me to commit on the 8th (this Friday). I'm not a fan of having all these schools on different timelines. Urgh.

Finally received an offer this morning. Was a little on the low side, will try to negotiate. Do they tend to get back quickly or will I expect a few weeks of silence from them?

I was told to expect 2-3 weeks. It's been about a week and a half and I haven't heard back yet.lolRCscrewyou wrote:Finally received an offer this morning. Was a little on the low side, will try to negotiate. Do they tend to get back quickly or will I expect a few weeks of silence from them?

They say 2-3 weeks, but I'm coming up on the high end of that spectrum with no answer.lolRCscrewyou wrote:Finally received an offer this morning. Was a little on the low side, will try to negotiate. Do they tend to get back quickly or will I expect a few weeks of silence from them?

That's somewhat disconcerting... I wonder if they would be responsive if you follow up with a note regarding another school's imminent deadline. I think Northwestern says not to bug their financial aid office unless you're within a two-day window of another school's deadline.rska884 wrote:They say 2-3 weeks, but I'm coming up on the high end of that spectrum with no answer.lolRCscrewyou wrote:Finally received an offer this morning. Based on the other feedback here, I'd say I doubt they care. Hoping I'll hear back soon, though, the time frame is causing me serious issues.AnonymousPython wrote:That's somewhat disconcerting... Helps a little to see that other people are in the same boat. I was very disappointed when I got mine because NYU's pretty much off the table now unless I can seriously negotiate.IcarusOnWheels wrote:received one today as well. Same. I'm totally crushed honestly because I realistically wouldn't go without a massive bump, even though it's my #1 by far.anonymous117 wrote: Helps a little to see that other people are in the same boat. Ugh I've pretty much given up hope since today was the day that people had to accept the scholarship. I know a few people have mentioned hearing back Sat-Mon, but I haven't seen many.gramps wrote:+1jotx wrote:has anyone else heard from RTK?

The latest I've seen anyone report an offer on TLS is the Friday after the interview, so there's some hope but it seems to be dwindling fast...last year rejection calls went out the equivalent of next Monday and Tuesday.zinnzinn wrote:Ugh I've pretty much given up hope since today was the day that people had to accept the scholarship. Good to know to expect a rejection call next week! For some reason I thought we would be getting them this week. Now what I'm wondering are the chances of getting other merit aid, because I loved NYU but it is so pricey!cannonballer wrote:The latest I've seen anyone report an offer on TLS is the Friday after the interview, so there's some hope but it seems to be dwindling fast...last year rejection calls went out the equivalent of next Monday and Tuesday.zinnzinn wrote:Ugh I've pretty much given up hope since today was the day that people had to accept the scholarship. Granted, I'm basing that data off of a very small sample size (2-3 people), so I wouldn't be shocked to get a rejection call tomorrow/over the weekend.zinnzinn wrote:Good to know to expect a rejection call next week! Just FAFSA and Need Access for NYUGoogleWasMyIdea wrote:Checking in. I was browsing this thread and noticed you guys talking about "financial aid forms" back in Feb/Mar. Are you guys just talking about the FAFSA and Need Access or is there some other form or application I need to fill out like Northwestern's? Thanks!
