Was admitted about 2 weeks ago. Being close to their deposit deadlines...is it hopeless to see if they have any scholarship funds left this late?

Has any recent admit received anything?? What was the turnaround?

Recent admit, I emailed yesterday and they said that the turn around was 10-12 days from when they receive NeedAccess and FAFSA materials. That places about 4/15, which is the deadline to deposit for some other schools. Basically there is no hope.

im sitting over a month since my completion of needsaccess and fafsa.

Does anyone know if this award only including need based aid mean I won't be getting any merit based aid? I know Georgetown's was totally separate, so just want to know if I should hold out hope.

As far as I know, NYU doesn't differentiate between the two when they send out scholarship information. So if you received an offer letter, that should represent the total amount of scholarship money that you're going to receive based on both your merit and need.

I'm still waiting to hear back from NYU about financial aid even though Boalt wants me to commit on the 8th (this Friday). I'm not a fan of having all these schools on different timelines. Urgh.

I'm not the first poster in this chain but I'll say that both like 2ish weeks ago when I asked about something else and on Monday I got the same vague answer of "you'll hear in the coming days." I mentioned in my more recent e-mail the timeline issue and they didn't respond at all to that element of my message. Additionally at ASW Dean Kleinrock basically said that they won't necessarily get you your offer before other schools' deadlines...and that they don't really give a crap that that's an issue.

WEll that sucks.Are they at least email? My fear with some schools is that you will snail mail something out before the deadline but I won't get it.

They are email. I received an initial decision from them in the first wave and then tried to negotiate, noting that I had an April 1st response deadline from another school. They didn't give me a response before the deadline and I withdrew

I was told to expect 2-3 weeks. It's been about a week and a half and I haven't heard back yet.

That's somewhat disconcerting... I wonder if they would be responsive if you follow up with a note regarding another school's imminent deadline. I think Northwestern says not to bug their financial aid office unless you're within a two-day window of another school's deadline.

Based on the other feedback here, I'd say I doubt they care. Hoping I'll hear back soon, though, the time frame is causing me serious issues.

Helps a little to see that other people are in the same boat. I was very disappointed when I got mine because NYU's pretty much off the table now unless I can seriously negotiate.

Granted, I'm basing that data off of a very small sample size (2-3 people), so I wouldn't be shocked to get a rejection call tomorrow/over the weekend.

Checking in. I was browsing this thread and noticed you guys talking about "financial aid forms" back in Feb/Mar. Are you guys just talking about the FAFSA and Need Access or is there some other form or application I need to fill out like Northwestern's? Thanks!
