Checking in. Not from LA. Supremely worried about living costs if I do decide to attend. Can anyone not wealthy weigh in on how reasonable the cost of attendance calculation is to live off of? AKA, am I going to be living in Solid Snake's cardboard box while eating the oranges inside it?

Native Angeleno here. I pay $1500 for a two bedroom, 1000 square foot apartment Downtown. I spend $75/week on groceries for my partner and I, and only eat at restaurants a max of twice per week. I have an old car, and spend $35 on gas every other week. Depending on where you live, there are deals to be had. PM me for more specific questions.

I live one block from the campus in a nice apartment with no roommates, pay about $900 per month, but I got lucky. Highly recommended of getting a roommate, that way you can get a nice place. You can use the roommate finder that the admissions office has.

I don't hear people talking about the football team. I do hear my friends talking about the basketball team tho. Good if you're looking for fun and exercise, two things that you need during 1L.

anyone got an idea of where to stay for Friday night of Law Day? It looks like everything ends pretty late so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the extra night

The Radisson is probably your best bet.

They have a discounted rate for $200 for the event. It was the cheapest I could find bedsides Airbnb.

I booked for the ASD, not Law Day, but I got ~$125/night at the Vagabond Inn at USC.

Somehow I missed that one. I might change to there.

I did, but didn't bother sending in their application stuff as I'm pretty much set on either USC or UCLA at this point.

I'm heading to ASD! Should be there by early this evening. If anyone else is getting in tonight and wants to meet up to explore/get food, PM me!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
