no one has ever found me because I am literally a fox and as a result it's very difficult for me to make social media profiles

Just because you wouldn't add me on FB doesn't mean you don't have one. Also, looks like you've been trolling around in peoples' yards recently. Sorry for outing you buddy, you asked for it:

95% sure I saw you scampering happily across the street in Charlottesville a few weeks ago. Sorry for staring and then running away when you started trotting toward me.

Every few days, I poke my head into the Lounge, and then quickly retreat back to this thread and the on-topics. I've been using internet forums for 10+ years, and I still can't keep up with... whatever is happening down there.
Respect for you brave souls and your colossal post counts.

In many ways, the lounge is like whitewater kayaking. You need to learn the basics on flatwater before you hit anything hard and fast, but there's no substitute for experience in learning how to read the flow of the water.
Basically what I'm saying is just go in and post a bunch and you'll do fine.

once you realize most people know each other offsite (for years) and communicate in other ways than TLS, it starts to make more sense

Both of those activities sound unpleasant.

Getting on a plane to Portland for Lewis & Clark ASW tonight and it's too early to leave so I'm just sitting around watching Curb. Now I kinda wanna just stay here and finish rewatching season 8.

I've always avoided the lounge because it seems pretty misogynistic to me (though I've never investigated in depth to see if that impression is true). I hear there's a pretty cool houseplant thread in there, though.
It definitely is. I got involuntarily dragged into a thread there for empathizing with another woman about asshole dudes. And, unsurprisingly, a bunch of dudes then were assholes. Merely reaffirmed my prior decision to never go in there.

It's a great and unseasonably warm time to be in Portland! Don't be fooled by the lack of rain
