To those of you attending admitted student events this week, make sure to enjoy them! I attended one two weeks ago, and it was amazing. However, at this point I have to admit that I'd rather do just about anything than be at work. 17 work days left, guys. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I'm not going to any ASWs this week but I am skipping out of work at lunch today to sit in on a class at Hastings. #AnywhereButWork2016schocolate wrote:how are all the non-asw-ers today?

So, so bored. Just over two months left and I'm alternating between being super stressed out about not having enough time to save money and wanting to quit early because I'm so. freaking. bored.schocolate wrote:how are all the non-asw-ers today?
But we're having an office potluck on Friday so there's a bright spot on the horizon.

Also we're preparing for Oral Arguments before the fed circuit at work and the attorneys are going crazy (hence why I'm not actually doing the GULC ASW)

I'm currently in the "I can live on $2 bags of tortilla chips" phase which is working well with "how much money can I get if I sell all my furniture on craigslist?"capricasixx wrote:This +5,000,000SlithyTove wrote:So, so bored. How big are these $2 bags of chips? Maybe this would be a good carb complement to my all-beans diet planSlithyTove wrote:I'm currently in the "I can live on $2 bags of tortilla chips" phase which is working well with "how much money can I get if I sell all my furniture on craigslist?"capricasixx wrote:This +5,000,000SlithyTove wrote:So, so bored. Wait this so much. I wasn't planning on quitting til my 2 year mark in the third week of July, but I've been seriously considering moving that date up a week or two or 4 months...capricasixx wrote:This +5,000,000SlithyTove wrote:So, so bored. I get paid bi-weekly so July ends up having an 'extra' paycheck this year. It's been motivating me to stay on until August 1.jtg21 wrote:Wait this so much. Luckily most of my time now is being spent training my replacement. It's great. if something comes up I'm like "[Minion], why don't you learn how to do this?" *eats a bagel*

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
I can understand the struggle completely. When I committed to Michigan in December and confirmed that I would be starting at the end of May, I immediately started brainstorming a way to stop working at the beginning of March. However, I made the terrible mistake of mentioning this in passing to my mother on the phone, and she had a come-to-Jesus talk with me about how "grown ass men do not take three-month vacations." I am not sure if I buy that, but the guilt trip worked. So I resolved that grown ass men surely can take two-months off and planned for April 1st. However, I soon came to terms with the fact that it's going to be my last month in a city that I love, and I am going to want to spend money. So I am working 3 more weeks until April 22nd in order to give myself a realistic budget and to help my boss out because she desperately needs the help. My hope is that this will turn into a great reference when I got to apply for BigLaw after Law School but who knows?capricasixx wrote:This +5,000,000SlithyTove wrote:So, so bored. Anyway, in December, the thought of working until the end of April seemed to be an absolutely insurmountable task. I was already so bored at my job and ready to get on with it, but I kept going. It really only becomes crushing when you think about it all at once like that. For instance, at least in my case, thinking that I have three weeks (or three months) left is a LOT more daunting than thinking that I have two more days left this week, and more daunting still than thinking that I can (hopefully) leave work in 5 hours. You've just got to think about it in the smallest unit possible for the sake of your sanity. Even if it comes down to setting a countdown on your phone until your lunch break (I'm not crazy, right?)
Good luck, guys. We will make it!
