Awesome. Was hoping to end up being able to get somewhere in the $75-100k range, so glad to know it's possible as a splitter. Definitely going to reach out beginning of March if I haven't gotten a feeler email.usn26 wrote:>75LSAT, <25 GPAsquirtlesquad14 wrote:Where were you in relation to medians?usn26 wrote:Admitted in November. This makes me feel a lot better as well. Do we think GTown will take offers from WUSTL into account for negotiation? Not hoping for a match but hoping that it'll mean something to them.squirtlesquad14 wrote:Awesome. If they matched WUSTL I'd commit tomorrow. That would be great.jumbo2016 wrote:This makes me feel a lot better as well. Do we think GTown will take offers from WUSTL into account for negotiation? Browsing last year's thread - someone said that they took WUSTL's scholarship offer into account - doubt they matched it, but it at least counted for something

Yup! The lang eval is a pain... I've been living and working abroad for the past 7 years, tracking down a language professional that didn't charge an absurd fee for a proficiency evaluation was heinous.Willie Beamen wrote:Just got foreign lang eval for the GLS application... Anyone else applying?

Anyone see this? Thoughts?

Basically a bunch of faculty members shouting at each other on a listserv to the whole student body. Not sure what to make of it.

Just read the ATL coverage of it, so at the least, glad to be aware what is going on. Thoughts? In terms of it's impact on me/my final decision...none at all.BirdLawExpert wrote:Anyone see this? Thoughts?

Not a big deal at all. Maybe Georgetown will be afraid for their reputation and increase scholarship money this cycle to compensate?

Is it the general opinion that waiting until March is best to reach out if you didn't get a feeler? Would there be an advantage to asking to be considered now-ish before they've allocated initial offers? Clearly I'm impatient. And very debt-averse.

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2019
General gist I've basically gotten is this: February through March is their main scholly window, and there is usually at least one more round of feeler emails a few weeks after the first. Beginning of March just seems like a good point because you're halfway through the window and it seems like a reasonable point to reach out and ask what's up with money.rychellemarie wrote:squirtlesquad14 wrote:Awesome. Thanks for the perspective, totally makes sense. I'll try and refrain myself from shooting off an email for a couple more weeks ha.

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2019
So I responded to GULC feeler email last week. I had no scholarship offers at that point so I made the typical higher ranked school acceptances/ GULC is more expensive argument. However, I just got a scholarship offer from Cornell (little over 100k). Should I keep this to myself and wait for GULC to respond to my initial proposition?

If you don't have a super pressing timeline, I would wait for their initial offer and then come back with your cornell offer if GULC falls belowskimmilk wrote:So I responded to GULC feeler email last week. Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2019
They say classes are offered 'throughout the day' but there are really only two classes available - from 9-11 to 11-1. The welcome from admissions doesn't start until 2. hrrmm.
Not worth it to take a full day off from work to attend a class, even if the Democracy and Coercion one sounds fun.....
