I know you only said that to hurt me, but I couldn't find a good one from TOS. Also, Jean Luc Picard is the freaking man.

I don't know either but I kind of love it since you're actually in the Navy.

Trying to take the quiz but I'm stuck on the first question. Doctor Who, Battlestar, West Wing AND Firefly?! I literally cannot choose.

Captain Kirk, baby.

I had the same problem! Except my dilemma was between BSG, West Wing, Desperate Housewives and Six Feet Under. I went with the latter ultimately.

Nooooo the world needs you! +1,000,000 for library workers. What type of library?
Small rural public. It's a good place but it's better when the day is over and there is beer

I went with Firefly (but it was an honest to god toss up), got Geordi, and realized that I've never watched the show and have no idea what that means. But hey, it's the Reading Rainbow guy right? I'm happy.

Yep, which means he's basically Belle. Makes sense!

Direct quote from an email my old company sent out during a typical summer week in Houston.
"Even though the air conditioning in our downtown location is not functioning at the moment, all employees on our corporate levels are expected to maintain business formal attire."
It was triple digits that entire week, if I hadn't just moved into a new lease I would have quit.

I worked as one of those people who goes door to door and asks for money to save the whales etc one summer. No dress code, but I had to walk 5 miles a day in the middle of a heat advisory. We had more than one employee have asthma attacks or other bad reactions. Minimum wage jobs, yo.

Terrible! Had a similar experience in a restaurant I worked at a coupleasure years ago. The back was approaching 100 and the owner refused to call the AC repair people because he said staff were causing it by leaving the door open and letting the heat in. We took turns sitting in the freezer to cool off.

Agreed, 100%. More of a blessing though
Last day of work for the week! Heading to a school that begins with P tomorrow morning. Excited to visit. More excited to not be at work.

As a chemical engineer,I work in production (so yes, the factory part) of a company and I have my fiscal year-end review on Monday. My job is basically to troubleshoot mechanical failures I applied for a promotion at work a few months ago and they just recently told me I didn't get it and I found out that the offer was given to someone significantly less qualified (I'm talking not even having the right kind of engineering degree). The thinking was he's applied for the same promotion whenever it opens up for almost a year and a half which is about 4 times because its a job one step above mine. Mine is kind of the stepping stone and everyone else is hired internally as positions open up higher and are trickled down. The idea makes sense so that all the engineers have tons of experience in different areas before being promoted to something that has some serious power behind it.
I can't wait to send my tell-all in my 2 weeks notice. I'll be professional, but I'll be sure to let them know politics will be standing in the way of them retaining top talent. Another engineer who is by far the most valuable asset they have is also leaving in the next month because he was denied a reasonable raise request for the work he puts in. He was in fact denied a promotion too because he is so valuable in the position he is in now oddly enough. 3 more months and im outieeee
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
