With the internet/smart phones I always find books like this a little outdated, but it's fun to thumb through.rska884 wrote:It's a bit out of date, but fun nonetheless.TheKisSquared wrote:I got a Not for Tourists Columbia branded guide today in the mail. Pretty snazzy!
(I will say they're useful when you're in a city where you don't speak the native language, but that doesn't apply here)

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2019
No, it's absolutely fun to thumb through - I'm just bitter because my neighborhood has had a lot of cool places open up since I moved in 2 years ago, and it looks like they haven't updated that specific section since at least that time frame (some of the places listed have closed, and none of the new stuff is in there). I keep trying to convince everyone that my neighborhood is cool, so it stung a bitTheKisSquared wrote:With the internet/smart phones I always find books like this a little outdated, but it's fun to thumb through.rska884 wrote:It's a bit out of date, but fun nonetheless.TheKisSquared wrote:I got a Not for Tourists Columbia branded guide today in the mail. Hey future (gender neutral) brothers- I'll admit I haven't read every entry here, but... for anyone who went to the admitted student day (ASD?) was there any reason to bring a suit?
As in... what were people generally wearing? I...
What I mean is... could I get away with pajama bottoms and an Eli Manning jersey?!

Columbia prefers winners, so I'd avoid NY area teams generally and go with a legend like Tom Bradyjetsfan1 wrote:Manning? You might have some problems. Fitzpatrick? See you there!
I think I'm rearranging my flights to get up there on Monday, so I'm hoping I can go. Have you heard anything about it besides the email (people on TLS who have been to previous years, etc)?ih8makingscreennames wrote:moigamerish wrote:Anyone going to the Perspectives event before ASW on the 29th?

Has anyone gotten any non-named aid yet? The only way I'd end up at CLS is with some money, and I would really like to get the ball rolling already...

Based on past years, it seems like they won't start sending that out until the beginning of Aprildarlenealderson wrote:Has anyone gotten any non-named aid yet? The only way I'd end up at CLS is with some money, and I would really like to get the ball rolling already...

I would like to echo this call for money news. But only because I love Columbia and want to know *exactly* how large the debt dick that's about to go in my ass is. Consensual, informed consent, you get me?darlenealderson wrote:Has anyone gotten any non-named aid yet? Had this confirmed by a financial aid person I chatted with at CLS. She told me April 1 at the earliest.tflan19 wrote:Based on past years, it seems like they won't start sending that out until the beginning of Aprildarlenealderson wrote:Has anyone gotten any non-named aid yet? I want to! But I have no idea how to register -- I was a late admit (last week), so I guess I missed that email you mentioned? I keep looking at the ASD page on the admitted students website, but it just says that "more information will follow" - could someone tell me when it starts/generally what it's about?gamerish wrote:Anyone going to the Perspectives event before ASW on the 29th?

no deets. I didn't ask my Columbia friend about it. The minority events at NYU were fun though so we shall see.

Well fuck. I have an April 1st scholarship deadline, no chance I'm going to let that pass with no idea what Columbia is offeringjtg21 wrote:Had this confirmed by a financial aid person I chatted with at CLS.
