I'm not a teacher but I did just take a four-day weekend and I kind of wish it was a 151-day weekend...

I'm in the same boat buddy. Didn't do the tour (I'm in Canada right now) but also stressing. At this point I think I'd even prefer San Diego...if they got back to me that iscapricasixx wrote:So Saturday was my first ASD... at the TTT that is Santa Clara. Of course, if I did end up enrolling there, it would only be because the rest of my cycle fell off a cliff and with the intention of applying to transfer after 1L. So, I went into it looking to see how I would do there for one year only - how are the faculty, other students, facilities... I have to say, I was a little surprised how unimpressed I was given the amount of money flowing into this place.
They trotted out one really good professor with a Harvard/Boalt background and work with the NAACP to teach the mock class, so I was feeling okay, but everybody else who spoke during the day was just regurgitating brochures and quite frankly didn't even seem all that well-spoken. The students seemed empty-headed and completely naive about their job prospects. And the campus grounds were nice - lots of landscaping, an honest-to-god mission in the middle of it - but the law building was stuffy and small, and the law library seemed like a really terrible place to spend any amount of time. I would say the only thing that got me excited all day was their clinic with the Nor Cal Innocence Project, but that's only available to 2Ls and above so not really relevant if I plan to transfer....
TL;DR 50% of my solid options right now suck sweaty ass and I'm starting to panic - elder gods please send me good news from UCLA or USC this week!
I'm WL at Loyola too! Fingers and toes crossed...Calihawk wrote:I'm in the same boat buddy. Didn't do the tour (I'm in Canada right now) but also stressing. Waitlisted at Loyola, we'll see if a loci has any effect.
Keep me/us posted though
Maybe we can room together at Santa Clara and both get the hell out after 1L haha (...that wasn't really a joke)
Santa Clara is not too bad. No need to knock it so hard. Also wouldn't plan on going to law school with the purpose of transferring. It is hard to do and will just make you feel more miserable if you can't transfer. I just sent you a pm.capricasixx wrote:So Saturday was my first ASD... at the TTT that is Santa Clara. To be honest, commentary on this forum notwithstanding, it's the recent rankings drop that has really made me second-guess Santa Clara.robertwabisabi wrote:Santa Clara is not too bad. I was down on it before the rankings leak because I have a family friend who works for the school and has told me to go literally anywhere else.Calihawk wrote:To be honest, commentary on this forum notwithstanding, it's the recent rankings drop that has really made me second-guess Santa Clara.robertwabisabi wrote:Santa Clara is not too bad. However I really agree with the sentiment of your second point; intending to transfer and then not being able to would mess you up. Although if you were willing to use the first year as a test year...I don't know. Opportunity cost is significant

I got Princess Bubblegum, but I've never seen Adventure Time so I'll need somebody to explain to me what that means.TheKisSquared wrote:schocolate wrote:I too am Gunter, which makes my 'tar quite the prescient choice.benwyatt wrote:I'm GunterTheKisSquared wrote: I found this great quiz asking what adventure time character you are.

As a side note, did anybody else feel really old when you came to the part that listed Ocarina of Time as an "old school" game?
I got Finn the Human, and I am pleased.TheKisSquared wrote: I found this great quiz asking what adventure time character you are.
