Did anyone elect to stay with a student host during ASW? If so, have you heard any details on that?

Does anyone what kind of questions they ask toll finalists? I'm trying to find a thread with experiences from past finalists but have not come across one.

I elected to stay with a student host, and I have not heard anything yet. My bus departs from Louisiana Tuesday night.. So, I hope they plan on informing us soon if we have a place to stay lol.Jengibre wrote:Did anyone elect to stay with a student host during ASW? If so, have you heard any details on that?

Current student (2L), here. I've received a bunch of e-mails about the school working to get enough student hosts. As of two days ago, they were short on housing for 8 admitted students. From what I can tell, there should definitely be space for everyone by the time you all start arriving. There's always a bit of a last minute scramble.jleon25 wrote:I elected to stay with a student host, and I have not heard anything yet. My bus departs from Louisiana Tuesday night.. Re: Penn Law Class of 2019
I got the time that I selected in the Doodle. But I only found this out after contacting Carl Moon directly and asking if we would receive a confirmation email. You might want to do that just in case you got chosen for a different day/time. He said more details will be forthcoming. We'll see about that..barley wrote:Not me.gobears!! wrote:has anyone actually received confirmation regarding the time and place of their toll interview?

Are there still a lot of individuals admitted in January/February waiting on merit aid? I know Penn stated they make decisions on a rolling basis through May, but I also know of people admitted in Feb with merit offers already.

Do you think we are notified if we are not receiving merit aid? Or just assume dead silence through May/June means we get nada.

No advice, still waiting for offer #1. But since you had all the ideas for Michigan - any ideas on housing? Where are people looking?slizerd wrote:Could those with LSAT and GPA at or over median PM me their scholly offers? Trying to figure out where mine stands/if I should negotiate for more. Thank you!

Whaaatttt where is this Facebook group?? I've been spending all my time at work lately procrastinating by looking at Penn housing, so I have a pretty good list of areas I'd like to live in! Unfortunately there aren't really affordable housing complexes with a bunch of amenities like gym, in unit laundry, etc. (unless 1600-over2k/month is affordable to some peopleRedWhite&Blonde wrote:You probs know this but there is the Google doc on the FB group! But from what I've seen, apartments in the buildings owned by University City Housing look like good deals. I'll be visiting again in mid- April to sign a lease somewhere so I'll have better information then!

Does anyone know if Levy offers have gone out yet or when they typically do?

Does anyone know when merit schollys go out? They said April but deposit deadlines are soon.

Wanted to put myself out there, current 1L so feel free to ask about housing etc. (although I would defer to Clearly over me most of the time).
More topical, I had a lot of success in my scholarship negotiations (although admittedly their initial offer was low for my numbers).
Quote me if you want a general response or PM for specifics.

Hi, thanks for offering to help out! Around when should we start looking for housing? June/July, or earlier?Auxilio wrote:Wanted to put myself out there, current 1L so feel free to ask about housing etc. (although I would defer to Clearly over me most of the time).

Re: Penn Law Class of 2019
I came down at the beginning of June and felt it was a pretty good time. I think Clearly mentioned this earlier, but part of the choice comes down to what type of house you want to live in. Most apartment complexes will have a 60 day warning requirement, so if you want to start a lease on August 1 say, anytime after June 1st is probably the best time. Or earlier.scandk wrote:Hi, thanks for offering to help out! Around when should we start looking for housing? If you want to live in smaller building which is likely less organized I would probably not start looking seriously until mid June at least.
Of course part of this depends on where you are now: if you are living in New York maybe come down for a weekend in May to see some places, get an idea for neighborhoods etc. If you don't love anything come back in mid June.
I will say that I find most of the people who are living east of the river (Centre City) are pretty happy with the decision, and I know a fair number who lived in University City first who are moving over next year. It does cost a bit more of course, but Philly is still pretty cheap.

Does anyone know if Penn will let you know they're not offering merit aid? I'm at a point where I'd like to make a final decision but I haven't heard from them and that could change things
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
