to answer my own question, Cornell said that if you are admitted after the 15th just submit your FAFSA/NA as soon as possible.

My vandy offer (104k) didn't move them at all (they were at 90k)

Maybe because they were close already though? They aren't going to match Vandy's offer.

okay cool, I have a 125k offer from Vandy that I hope will get Cornell to move, but I don't even have a scholly offer yet.

Any idea what the turn around time post-acceptance for scholarships is?

I think it's a week after you turn in the forms.

Know a few people from last year that used full rides from WUSTL to get their Cornell offer bumped up - probably more likely if you have some sort of semi-legitimate selling point (i.e. Cornell is my top choice because x,y,z)

If I plan to negotiate using my offer from WUSTL should I send it now or wait until April when negotiating starts? WUSTL's deposit deadline is April 1st

I just got my offer and am wondering the same thing. I'm going to email WUSTL (and probably Vandy) for a deposit extension!

I would just send it now. They will probably get back to you quickly.

Is it in any way binding for me to say that the only thing preventing me from making my seat deposit today is my financial package? If I say that and increase my offer am I expected to put down my deposit? Basically I will either put my deposit down at Cornell or else I will sit out at least another cycle, its not like I am saying that with intentions of putting my deposit down elsewhere.

I would say it depends on your language. For example, if you said "If you able to increase my award to $110,000, then I will put down my deposit to Cornell," that reads to me like a binding statement.

What do others think? I'm a 0L, so I truly have no business saying what I think is binding/written contract or whatever.

Obviously I don't want to put the exact quote down, but its something along the lines of "I want to go, but the only thing keeping me from depositing is the potential financial burden".

And that is entirely truthful, I want to go so bad but I'm starting to get cold feet looking at the potential debt.

I think that's totally fine and quite reasonable.

I assume everybody is sending negotiation e-mails to the financial aid address, rather than the general admitted students e-mail?

I am hoping to be there. Also as a reminder to everyone else, the RSVP date for ASD is tomorrow.

Curious: Did you receive a response? If you did, how long did it take?
