Checking in. Going to ASW from FL. Applying for scholarships/loans now. Just emailed about the supplemental scholarship. Confident I can crank it out in less than 24 hours. I got admitted a few weeks ago, but did not have my taxes ready as an employer was dragging on my 1099. Any suggestions?

Hi all! I'm taking my SO to ASW, but I haven't seen anything on +1s on any of the ASW pages... Will he be allowed to attend the different events with me? Things like dinner, for example, seem like it wouldn't be appropriate to him to attend without an RSVP.

Also wondering... worth a call or email to find out, I think.

Also, can someone call and ask about scholarships? Please and thank you.

Someone must volunteer to make the call.

RE: guests for ASW, this is what Gapasin sent in her last email in February, definitely worth a call to clarify:

"Finally, we understand that there are other people whose influence and buy-in you’d like to consider when making the important decision on where to attend law school. Guests will be allowed at some events but not all due to space limitations. Off the top of my head, the events where we can allow guests include: Welcoming Remarks, Opportunities in the Bluhm Legal Clinic, Unique Educational Opportunities, Career Strategy Panel, and the Dean’s Town Hall."

I got a good laugh at the official housing survey describing one of the neighborhoods as "hipster"

I went to nu undergrad and then lived in chi after - if it was wicker park that is by far the best available description of the neighborhood. (I haven't done the housing survey tho so am making a Chicago-educated guess)

Nothing out of the ordinary. Some surprise rejections, others less so. Still waiting on four more to come back. Going to NU ASW?

Idk where you're coming from but for me the stipend covered round trip flights and left about $200 for hotels. If you can take a day or two off of work and don't have an overlapping AWS, why not go to chicago for a weekend for free?

Overlappong ASWs and time off from work are an issue. I'm going to Columbias from the 30th-31st, the second day of which overlaps with the first day of NYU's and the second day of NYU's overlaps with NU's ASW. Alternatively, I could skip NYU's March ASW in favor of the mid April one and fly straight to NU from Columbia's but the other ASW for NYU overlaps with UChicago's. It would be easier to decide if I had scholly offers but I don't (except for Columbia) and I'm not sure if I'll have offers before I need to book tickets.

On Friday- we should have room for guests in the morning and on the tours in the afternoon.

On Saturday- we should have room for guests all day.
Email response about +1s at ASW. The "in the morning" bit is a little vague. :?
