They walked in, sat on everything and never stopped talking; literally all the while throwing paper airplanes around the room. After I took roll, I told them that if they were quiet and finished their worksheets, I'd show them how to make the best paper airplane they've ever seen.
I have never seen a more diligent group of freshman. They were dead silent except when helping each other. I feel like I just witnessed a miracle.
On the other hand, I feel terrible for the rest of their teachers today because all those kids are going to be doing is folding paper airplanes.
I started browsing this website in high school when it was on like geocities or some shit. I competed in science olympiad, and one of my events was designing a balsa wood airplane that could stay aloft the longest, and at some point in my research I went on like a nine month kick of getting super into making paper airplanes. I have no idea how I ever had a girlfriend back then.
Now there's youtube and a bunch of other places.

This plane is the same basic design as the one I taught them to make.

jtg21 is a consummate team player. Whenever I think of teams or team-related activities, jtg21 vaults to the forefront of my mind. Why, just yesterday I was watching a college basketball game and I thought to myself, "if these guys cooperated as well as jtg21 does with our team, they'd be in the World Series." In addition to teamwork skills, jtg21 possesses an unparalleled ability to impersonate Vin Diesel, or in fact diesel machines of any sort. I got an unwanted phonecall from my ex-wife, and I had to pretend like I was changing a flat tire on the side of a highway. Well, needless to say that jtg21 delivered a pitch-perfect impersonation of Vin Diesel driving an International 9900i and my afternoon was slightly redeemed. I say all of this to say that it goes without saying that jtg21 is the best person for the job, even though sometimes jtg21 doesn't really know what the job is and could benefit from a mentor who would take the time out of their day to write an actual fucking evaluation instead of pawning it off on their subordinate.jtg21 wrote:Would anyone like to assist with my employee self-evaluation? I think most of the "tasks" I perform take place on this site, so you all should be highly qualified to evaluate me.

Would you guys rather have your jobs be slow or fast in the weeks before you depart for law school? Not counting today, I have 25 days of work left, and this week has been monstrous. I've already worked 60 hours not counting today. I remember when things were slow and I was wishing for work to pass the time, and now all I want to do is stare blankly at the wall while I'm at work. Am I just doomed to be dissatisfied with my circumstances until I leave?
As a consolation, I am taking next week off to attend an ASW at Michigan where I will be starting in Late May. That's literally the only thing that has kept me going. April 22nd cannot come fast enough!
EDIT: Ridiculous typos because of sleep deprivation.

I honestly wish I had more to do. Not because I want to do it, but because it would help pass the time. 25 days isn't too bad, but I have 4 more months still (or 5 if I end up staying in the area for school and don't have to move...)GFox345 wrote:Would you guys rather have your jobs be slow or fast in the weeks before you depart for law school? When I started in January I was supposed to take over three clients and help out on a fourth. Two of those clients have since terminated their contracts with us, and the last one transitioned to self-service, so I'm down to one client now. On the bright side, the company I left to work here is signing with us soon, so I'll be working on the same campaigns I was running when I still worked there, because life is a cruel joke.

Artsy girl in this class wearing a bunch of anime clothes and drawing comics like her life depends on it.
"So you like to draw?"

She's currently ranting about how she speaks three languages and took algebra in 4th grade but still has to take these bourgeois classes and go to public school. My bullshit meter is going off the fucking chain.capricasixx wrote:Awww... That's cute. EDIT: she says she taught herself Japanese last month. She's either a savant or a budding japanophile, or both.

I'm sure she's already filed the appropriate forms for emancipation, you'd just need to swoop in and capitalize on that parental vacuum.capricasixx wrote:I want to adopt her.BirdLawExpert wrote:No, unfortunately. Hahahahaha my lord catching up on this on my train ride home. That wedding announcement is priceless. Can I put you on retainer for mine? And BirdLaw. That sounds like so many of the Sailor Moon junkies I knew as a youth. Their counterparts were the socially inept and enthusiastic about all the wrong hobby type guys that just new one day they would, in fact, go Suoer Saiyan and the world would appreciate them.
Fun fact. I was a DBZ addict back in the day.
In other news I seriously feel the work pain. As I will likely still be at my job until at least if July much like yourself Caprica. I move away from the South for gap year(s) work and will move back late this summer to wherever I am going to school. I just know it won't be my current city. Idk what's worse. My commute, or the dragging days of work sandwhiched between it. Things might get rough before they get better. I know one thing. I got intrenched in HOC season 4 last night and will for certain have it fully binge watched by Sunday. Maybe tomorrow... Lol

I think I'm going to try to get a part-time, unpaid internship just to keep my current job from driving me completely crazy.
What a worthless week.

Now that I know you're from Maine, I would like to let you know that I'll be officiating the wedding in the style of Justice Boudreaux.thelostweasley wrote:Those would go perfectly with my moose slippers from my childhood.
