The clocks on our phones for some reason have decided daylight savings is already over and I keep getting mild panic shocks that I've lost an hour.

I think that gives you an excellent excuse to leave work early.TheKisSquared wrote:The clocks on our phones for some reason have decided daylight savings is already over and I keep getting mild panic shocks that I've lost an hour.

Oh! That is distracting. I feel terrible about it but women in wigs always make me think of Roald Dahl's 'The Witches'. Are you in Portland, or does the dean travel to events elsewhere?capricasixx wrote:It was actually really good. Free food AND drinks! On the bright side, I woke up to my first outright acceptance! It was from my absolute last choice school, but it's something! Now I know I can quit my job in 4 months no matter what, thank the flying spaghetti monster...
HOORAY! Congratulations!! I can't post gifs yet but IT"S HAPPENING TODAY! Imagine something celebratory here:
How was drinking with the Lewis and Clark folks yesterday? Did they feed you?

They came to San Francisco, actually. Three blocks from my office, at a brewpub I know and like, so no complaints there. I don't think I'll get to visit any schools outside the Bay Area sadly.SlithyTove wrote: Oh! That is distracting. Im working for a growth-stage start-up that's doing really well so everyone's excited about the company and I'm just like bleh. I keep getting asked about where I would like to grow in the company and what my long term goals are by my manager and coworkers. no one has any idea about law school. Lying through my teeth right now.capricasixx wrote:I started a new job in January, when I already knew I'd be there a maximum of six months. They don't have to know that, though. I'm giving one month's notice on June 1st. Gotta do you.Budfox55 wrote:The struggle is so real right now. Once I got my first acceptance and realized that there was no incentive for a promotion, i lost all of my motivation for my job.

Capricaaa! I got an email from UC Hastings about stuff and I'm pretty sure I might hear back soon, which means I might be in SF for a visit eventually. What food do I need to eat while there?capricasixx wrote:SlithyTove wrote: How was drinking with the Lewis and Clark folks yesterday? Did they feed you?capricasixx wrote: It was actually really good. Okay, here's your schedule, assuming a breakfast/brunch (weekday/weekend), a lunch, and a dinner:BirdLawExpert wrote:Let's assume I'll get like three meals, one maybe at $$$ and the rest at $/$$capricasixx wrote:How many meals will you be here for? $ breakfast: Brenda's - http://frenchsoulfood.com/home (Tenderloin, close to Hastings)
$$ brunch: NOPA - http://nopasf.com/menu/weekend_brunch/ (Lower Haight, so not right by Hastings but a pretty quick bus/cab ride or long but doable walk)
$ lunch: Saigon Sandwich - http://www.yelp.com/biz/saigon-sandwich-san-francisco (Tenderloin, close to Hastings)
$$$ dinner: Aziza - http://www.aziza-sf.com/food.html (medium bus/cab ride from the Hastings area)
Keep me posted - I'm on the WL at Hastings so maybe we'll be 1L buddies!

You and I have the exact same LSAT and your GPA is higher than mine, so you will at least make WL.SlithyTove wrote:I wish I had an excuse to be in San Francisco ever. Maybe it's time for a last minute hail Mary application at Hastings.

Just decide that you want to apply to like six more schools before the March 15th deadline. It makes time fly.capricasixx wrote:Is it lunchtime yet? Or better yet, is it time to go home?

Oh man, me too. They were on my list from the beginning but I talked myself out of applying for reasons I can no longer remember.

Well I can see that you applied to schools all along the coast and the bustling metropolis of DeKalb, Illinois is almost sort of close to a great lake so I say you go for it.capricasixx wrote:Well, I just got a fee waiver email from Northern Illinois, do you think it's a sign??SlithyTove wrote:Just decide that you want to apply to like six more schools before the March 15th deadline. Wait are you just making up nonsense words now or is "DeKalb" a real placeSlithyTove wrote:Well I can see that you applied to schools all along the coast and the bustling metropolis of DeKalb, Illinois is almost sort of close to a great lake so I say you go for it.capricasixx wrote:Well, I just got a fee waiver email from Northern Illinois, do you think it's a sign??SlithyTove wrote:Just decide that you want to apply to like six more schools before the March 15th deadline. According to the wisdom of Google DeKalb is not only a real place but it is the home of Northern Illinois College of Law and, potentially, your new home! Population 43,849.capricasixx wrote:Wait are you just making up nonsense words now or is "DeKalb" a real placeSlithyTove wrote:Well I can see that you applied to schools all along the coast and the bustling metropolis of DeKalb, Illinois is almost sort of close to a great lake so I say you go for it.capricasixx wrote:Well, I just got a fee waiver email from Northern Illinois, do you think it's a sign??SlithyTove wrote:Just decide that you want to apply to like six more schools before the March 15th deadline. San Francisco is a small city and that is 5% of the SF population....SlithyTove wrote:According to the wisdom of Google DeKalb is not only a real place but it is the home of Northern Illinois College of Law and, potentially, your new home! Nah, you're wrong - this article is about ME. You know how when they say something is based on a true story they take liberties with major details? Well, I'm not a bald man, but was definitely the real-life inspiration for this piece.BirdLawExpert wrote:Guys please stop publishing articles about me on ClickHole.
