Anyone else interested in JAG?

I’ve been looking into it although I’m undecided. I would be 32 at time of commission. That doesn’t disqualify me but I think it would be a significant disadvantage. Do you have any military experience?

I do not. I want to serve and this would be the best way for me to achieve that. I have a minor disability that might disqualify me, though.

Same here, I have no military experience but working at the VA has motivated me to serve. The application process looks very intense. As far as medical disqualifications, I remember reading that some can be waived for JAG so it's not make or break.

I have a friend who does JAG with the Airforce via the Florida Air National Guard. On his "weekends" and Annual Training he goes and serves as either defense or prosecution of airmen in trouble with the Airforce. He seems to enjoy it quite a bit. He's a regular Joe lawyer.

Uber-lurker coming out of the woodwork here. Unfortunately I don’t vote in the polls, so it’s still a mystery who is doing all the voting . I don’t want to sound like a crazy party animal (I’m not), but what are people’s plans for meeting people/socializing in law school?

I think there are quite a bit of social opportunities that will be put on by the school. I'm sure I'll hang out with you guys and drink some beerz every now and again.

Thanks for the tip! I went to UF for undergrad, but I don't really know anything about the bar scene (downside of a science major...). I missed the ASD TLS meetup, hopefully I'll make it to the next one .

I'm thinking about attending the Gainesville event. I move to Gainesville in late June. If anyone else is moving insanely early, shoot me a PM and we can meet up sooner than later!

I was considering going to the one in Jax to get some exposure in that market, but I'll still be working at that time. The one in Gainesville in July, I'll be out of work and looking for something to do, so likely the one in Gainesville.
