Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Thanks, guys! I really can't believe it.
Found out by phone call. They said I'll have to decide to accept PILS by Friday, so there may very well be another round of offers if people don't accept. I was leaning UCLA before this, but unless they match my new scholarship (or ASW goes terribly), it'll be hard to say no.

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Hey guys - in @ Georgetown and wondering how long it takes to get merit-based scholarship offer? I read earlier on the forum about a "feeler" email going out but I believe I was accepted after that. Since I'm not trying to get need-based aid, I'm under impression I shouldn't do the whole yellow form, etc. Any advice would be great.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Does anyone know if the March 15th deadline is for the FASFA and Need Access applications only? I just submitted my yellow app and I'm wondering if I missed a deadline…

Can you point me to where you found the increase/new tuition? I can't seem to find it...canadianbrother wrote:Tuition went up 4% from 53,130 to 55,255.
If it continues to increase at this rate, we'll be paying 57,465 in 2L and 59,763 in 3L.

Congrats to everyone that got PILS!
Quick question: Has anyone spoken with admissions about the April 1st deadline to commit for scholarships? I've seen some posts about it being a non-binding agreement unless you use the tuition deposit waiver, but what about just the April 1st commitment if you have plans of paying the deposit before the May 1st deadline?

Curious about this as well. But regardless of whether or not it's binding, doesn't it seem like April 1st is the deadline for scholarship negotiations? I couldn't imagine haggling with them after sending a form telling them I intend to accept their offer...PKP319 wrote:Congrats to everyone that got PILS!

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Finally checking in! I didn't get PILS, but I'm still like 90% sure I'm going to GULC this fall. A bump in scholarship would pretty much seal the deal for me. Would anyone who's successfully negotiated for more money happen to have any advice? And does anyone know what Georgetown's policy is on depositing at more than one school?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
I got the PILS over the weekend as well.
This April 1st deadline is a killer. There's no way I'll know if this will be my best offer until at least mid-April. So I will likely be withdrawing. I'm bummed though. It seems like an awesome program.

Two things. Sorry if these have been answered. Haven't kept up as promptly with the thread because I've had to do work things at work lately (who knew?!)
Has anyone that was ED successfully negotiated a scholarship? I mean I know that it's not promising and with Ed I was ready to pay ticket, but obviously it would be super nice not to.
Another thing. Does Andy come to the open houses in cities? The emails are kind of sly about it.
See everyone later this week. WOOHOO!

Merit aid -- probably not - but it never hurts to ask. However, GULC has need based aid that you can apply for. The only thing that matters with that pool of money is your financial situation relative to others that apply.louisv123 wrote:Two things. Sorry if these have been answered.
