Is anyone still undecided at this point between USC and other schools? If so do you think you will double deposit?

Keep in mind that USC will pull your scholarship if you are double deposited starting may 15.

Any downside to applying for Terrace Housing if I'm still debating between getting my own place / a place with a roommate or Terrace?

+1 Same question. Also is it pretty safe to walk from Terrace to campus and back at night?fishbulb wrote:Any downside to applying for Terrace Housing if I'm still debating between getting my own place / a place with a roommate or Terrace?
When is terrace housing due?

@acat, you might want to post in the choosing forum
@fishbulb and KT, are you both coming here?
I don't see a rush to complete the on campus housing application since it opened today. Are you looking into Terrace because you are oos?
I think YAR said it was pretty safe. You might want to ask a current student or grad in one of the Takings threads, or contact the school in general to ask about it. (I think there is a contact person in the folder that they gave us on Law Day.)

Regarding Terrace, I think it's relatively safe. Most people live on the other side of Hoover Street, because that's where The Row is (meaning more posted security), however any USC housing is going to be very secure. Additionally, they have 24-hour security situated along the routes that students take to and from campus, including Terrace.

Yeah, I deposited last night and barring any WL, I'll likely be here in the fall.LawsRUs wrote:@acat, you might want to post in the choosing forum

I'm from LA and actually living with friends now in an LA suburb for pretty cheap, but the .75-1 hour commute everyday seems like something I don't want to deal with, not to mention this probably isn't the best environment for a 1L. I'm more interested in finding a non-USC apartment, but just wanted to keep my options open for now.

Now if they start letting a ton of people off the waitlist with good money, you know they haven't hit their targets.

My recommendation for most of you would be the Tuscany Apartments or Icon Plaza by MLK Blvd.fishbulb wrote:Yeah, I deposited last night and barring any WL, I'll likely be here in the fall.LawsRUs wrote:@acat, you might want to post in the choosing forum

They're both a little pricey, but they have the best proximity to the Law School. Nice rooms, recently built, very secure, and they're situated on top of some great eateries and coffee places.

See there is a difference between scotti and me. He is too honest in his representation, but I am too biased. I can't help it if I like this school and the people here.

Expensive, but absolutely necessary if you plan on driving to campus each day.monkeyKT wrote:I'm going to deposit tonight but am waiting on a couple WLs. Just got off the vanderbilt one so weighing that as well.
I'm wondering if it'll be better to live in Terrace and to be closer to campus and all the other law students or if it's more mentally beneficial to live with non-law school friends about 15 min drive.
Anyone know the parking situation at usc?

@FN, thanks for answering our questions! I hope they give you loads of $.
@KT, congrats on your Vandy acceptance, but I hope we get to see you here.
@KMart, are you planning on doing the CA OCI next year? Or just a vacation? lol
And it sucks because it wasn't the school in and of itself, or the administration, but some people gunning and doing shitty things.
