Scholarship package just now - really generous! Looking seriously at Chicago. I was in the 2/23 acceptance wave.

Well got my financial aid package, was 90k less than Cornell. Might have to pass on Chicago, Cornell for almost free just seems to good to pass up.

Also the appeal form asks for the deadline of each offer you're using to negotiate, so they definitely knowlc39 wrote:I'm not sure that's their timeline. Could be quicker now that they've gotten most/all of the aid packages out for Feb and earlier admits. If you have an exploding deadline I'd probably politely email and let them know.moejoe193 wrote:Is there any precedent for asking Chicago to move up their financial aid package timeline? Waiting a month leaves little-to-no time to weigh options or negotiate.

lol true i'm having some great flashbacks. mainly sophomore year, when we built a blanket fort in a common room to destress in, plastered the inside of it with pictures of ryan gosling and clooney, and called it the womb

Sounds way more fun than my undergrad experience. During finals I mostly just stayed in the library 16 hours a day and ate Jimmy John's for all three meals. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.Moltenmama wrote:This just tickles me. Thanks for sharing.Wahrheit wrote:From a discussion with a fellow 0L on fb:

While we're on the topic of stress and eating...what do Chicagoans do without See's Candy?! I'm very worried. Any chocoholics willing to share their dealer?Indy16 wrote:Sounds way more fun than my undergrad experience. Order L.A. Burdick's http://www.burdickchocolate.com. I'm in Ithaca right now lacking a good local chocolatier, and Burdick's is the best chocolate I've ever had, by far so I still order from them. If you're ever in Boston, NYC, or Walpole, NH, get the dark hot chocolate from the shop, it's absolutely divine.Moltenmama wrote: While we're on the topic of stress and eating...what do Chicagoans do without See's Candy?! I'm confused. We have See's here. I am not big on chocolate so I don't eat it, but you can certainly find it at Macy's on Michigan and I think at the State St. location as well.Moltenmama wrote:While we're on the topic of stress and eating...what do Chicagoans do without See's Candy?! I sort of assumed See's was almost universal.jemthey17 wrote:I'm confused. We have See's here. I would hope that Chicago/any self-respecting large city has better chocolate to offer than See's Candy anyway...jemthey17 wrote:I'm confused. We have See's here. YO.
Because I'm bored - for those that are RSVPing for ASW Thursday events, what are you going to? I'm doing the LWC lunch and the 'Mix & Mingle' because that seems to promise chillness.
Are most people doing all 3 days?

For those of you that requested student housing, do we get it Wednesday/Thursday/Fri/Sat?

IIRC, you could get it W/Th/F? For some reason I think I remember Saturday not being an option, but I could be misremembering. And you check off which nights you need it for on the RSVP form.alloverthat wrote:For those of you that requested student housing, do we get it Wednesday/Thursday/Fri/Sat?

I guess they felt like that was plenty of time for people to get themselves to the airport.
