Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Declined my scholarship and withdrew my application today. Georgetown was much more generous to me than expected, so hopefully that $$$ ends up with y'all!

Oh hi there! She IS pretty chill, but she's grown a lot recently.tuxedocat wrote:Man, I wish my cat were chill enough to hang in a knapsack. Checking in!
I was admitted last week and am wondering about how to solicit a scholarship feeler email. For those of you who did solicit, did you mention specific offers in that initial email or generally inquire about merit aid?
Thanks!

So I got an email yesterday about my "Award Package" for financial aid now being available online. When I look at MyAccess, it's only loans -- does this mean I'm not going to get a scholarship?

Is anyone going to the Boston meetup tonight? (Or has anyone been to the meetups in other cities?) I haven't RSVP'd but I'm wondering if it is worth it to go. Anyone know about dress code?

I'm going. Not really sure what to expect, but it's close to work. I'm going business casual since I'm coming straight from work. I doubt it matters too much as long as you don't go to either extreme.betty_bojangles wrote:Is anyone going to the Boston meetup tonight? (Or has anyone been to the meetups in other cities?) I'm just sad that they canceled the Chicago reception this year. Anyone else here in Chicago?betty_bojangles wrote:Is anyone going to the Boston meetup tonight? You think it's too late to RSVP? I wasn't sure if I would get out of work in time but it looks like I will... Also, do you perchance know what the parking situation is like over there?rubbles wrote:I'm going. Not really sure what to expect, but it's close to work. Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
I went to the Philly one last night. I think they said 9 admit RSVPs (plus +1's) and about 6 were there for most of it. Very small, casual thing, with soft drinks and snacks. Oh, and ℅18 shirts and a foam hoyalawya. I thought it was a good chance to chat with the adcomms and admits. Overall a good time, nothing mind-blowing. Made me feel more comfortable with GULC, personally.betty_bojangles wrote:Is anyone going to the Boston meetup tonight? (Or has anyone been to the meetups in other cities?) They might not have a name tag ready for you, but I doubt they'd turn you away. There are plenty of parking lots around, though they probably won't be too cheap.betty_bojangles wrote:You think it's too late to RSVP? After you register for the Supreme Court reception, do you get a confirmation or anything? I'm not sure if I have successfully registered. Also, for people who are staying for few days in DC for ASW, where do you plan to stay?

I'm staying in an Airbnb in Columbia Heights. Figured I might as well use the time to check out a neighborhood I would actually live in, instead of some random hotel.xtgg5020 wrote:After you register for the Supreme Court reception, do you get a confirmation or anything? Parking at the metro is a good call, much cheaper than trying in the city. There are three stations with overnight parking: Greenbelt, Huntington, and Franconia-Springfield. (source). Greenbelt is north east in Maryland, with the other two southwest down in Virginia.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Used Priceline last night and got like 50% off a nice hotel in Capitol Hill. Then learned parking is $45 a day, so I'll be finding an alternative way to park a car in the city, probably metro park and ride or something. Was planning on using Airbnb but the ones that are left are just as expensive as staying in a hotel so I just went for itxtgg5020 wrote:Also, for people who are staying for few days in DC for ASW, where do you plan to stay?

Hahaha oh man guys. I just "got" the name of the Facebook group admin. "Addy Missions." Very funny, Georgetown. I hope I'm not the only one who didn't pick up on that immediately.

I still don't get it (unless it's a two-word "name" for Admissions?).tuxedocat wrote:Hahaha oh man guys. I just "got" the name of the Facebook group admin. "Addy Missions." Very funny, Georgetown. I hope I'm not the only one who didn't pick up on that immediately.
