Hahaha I took sick time today to get a haircut tootuxedocat wrote:Today I told the partner that I couldn't meet because I've been sick the last couple days and have an appointment this afternoon. Now if she took that to mean that I had a doctor's appointment, then that's on her for adding her own assumptions (logical reasoning, amirite?). I definitely did NOT lie about having a haircut at 2pm.

Yup. One of the most useful things I've learned in client service: put two true but unrelated facts next to each other and let them draw their own (false) conclusions.Gray wrote:oh yeah, appointment can mean ANYTHING. I'm planning to leave in June but I have no idea how I'm going to make it working through May. I can barely work another week, forget two months.

I've got 2 months and change too. I was sitting in our morning meeting today like...how am I going to do this? Our managers decided that it was a great idea to let like 70% of the office take all of the vacation this week, so I can't even slack off like I want.NotASpecialSnowflake wrote:I'm planning to leave in June but I have no idea how I'm going to make it working through May. Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
So I have a coworker who operates further up steam the paper pushing trail of tears who perpetually screws my project up despite my multiple (3) attempts to explain proper procedure. I can't tell if she's lazy or slow, but it must be one of the two if not both. Any suggestions on how I can test this and come to a final conclusion?

That's taken care of. This is more of a 'tyrion questions the nature of human cruelty by studying his Beetle crushing cousin' type situation.Gray wrote:I think the real question is how best to make it clear that it's not your fault so that it's no longer your problem.Big Red wrote:So I have a coworker who operates further up steam the paper pushing trail of tears who perpetually screws my project up despite my multiple (3) attempts to explain proper procedure. Directly ask. Stare intently until you have an answer.Big Red wrote:So I have a coworker who operates further up steam the paper pushing trail of tears who perpetually screws my project up despite my multiple (3) attempts to explain proper procedure. In the two weeks that I was self-banned from TLS, I wrote 110 pages of my senior thesis. Since I've been back, I haven't even opened the document. UGH TLS UGH

Now wait are you mourning the loss of productivity or the continuation of responsibility? I'm like the hare who sprints the whole race and then gets tired and naps for like three days, letting the tortoise win the race and taking an incomplete on his stupid thesis
