Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Question about ASW next week.
Is any bringing parents? It looks like there were quite a few parents at the first weekend. My parents are from around DC and they will be supporting me a ton while I'm in school so I offered for them to go. I already know I'm going to Georgetown so it has nothing to do with them helping me make the decision or holding my hand through it. They just want to learn about the school. It seems like on the other threads people were really opposed to that idea but since it looks like quite a few brought parents to GULC's January ASW I'm hoping I won't be the odd one out.
Thanks!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the approximate turnaround time between soliciting a scholarship feeler email and receiving a response? I emailed the hotline address one week ago and haven't heard back yet. Not sure if I should send the same email to the Admissions Office, or what.

Anyone know what kind of aid options you have if you got accepted through the binding early decision process? Any chance whatsoever of getting something from the school (in spite of your zero leverage)? And what about external options?

Andy said during an info session I attended that it isn't a factor and scholarships are considered regardless of binding, but that is SO HARD to believe.

Financial need aid is your best chance - only thing that is considered is your financial need relative to other students.Manifest wrote:Anyone know what kind of aid options you have if you got accepted through the binding early decision process? I went to the first ASW - and I'd guess that approximately 75% of the admitted students brought either their parents or significant other along. I rolled solo (GF explored DC) and I was the odd ball! So I wouldn't worry about bringing your parents - there will be plenty of parents there.Mk159224 wrote:Question about ASW next week.

FYI - a new link called "Applicant" showed up on my "Myaccess.georgetown.edu" today. Looks like the place you go to pay your deposits. Additionally, the "Financial Aid" link now has 2015/2016 in the dropdown menu.

Hmmmmmm - I completed my Fafsa and yellow form (not that they are going to give me anything) - and it showed up a few days later. That might be why -- although there is an "award" section in that tab as well. I am assuming that is for merit based aid recipients.Gray wrote:I still don't have the financial aid tab! - but the Applicant tab showed up for me too!navykev wrote:FYI - a new link called "Applicant" showed up on my "Myaccess.georgetown.edu" today. Yeah, 45 new members today! I got added after a puzzled message from the admin asking if my admissions record was under a different name (I go by my middle name). It's good to know that they actually check to make sure people are admitted!Gray wrote:They're finally adding people to the facebook group. I will now be lurking profiles to try to find TLSers.

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
I just got the feeler email. I had some major reading comprehension fail on my first read-through and didn't understand what the email was asking me to do.commandercup wrote:+1, I sent mine on Monday.eggyolk wrote:Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the approximate turnaround time between soliciting a scholarship feeler email and receiving a response? Now I need to figure out how much to write and how much to ask for.
