99% sure I'll be at Cornell in the fall! Waiting until after April ASW to pay my deposit. Will this late deposit preclude me from getting housing in Hughes?

Depends on demand. Although apparently last year they started making offers to people who didn't even pay the deposit but who filled out the housing app. Did you already fill that out?future!jd12 wrote:99% sure I'll be at Cornell in the fall! Does Cornell generally match scholarships from GULC?
Cornell hasn't even made an offer yet, but if they're able to match it I'll be in Ithaca next year 100%

Maybe. They're not on any sort of "don't match" list afaik. Might as well try.canadianbrother wrote:Does Cornell generally match scholarships from GULC?

Hi all...dropping in to say I dropped out today, leaving a Hughes Scholarship on the table to be given to a lucky person who decides to matriculate at Cornell!
Good luck everyone!

Re: Cornell Class of 2018
Just got an email saying Cornell received my financial aid sheet. Says a financial award email will be made to me once the committee meets. Anyone else get this? For Lavitz or other students here, is this the combined merit/need? Or is this just what I get the privilege of borrowing from the government?

Oh, and Lavitz, did they receive this email around the same time last year? Just trying to get an idea if we could be ahead of the March 17th date.

Re: Cornell Class of 2018
There was no e-mail last year afaik. Could be. I think last year most of the first awards came via snail mail. If they're changing it (back) to e-mail then it could be earlier...or later...who knows.Winston1984 wrote:Oh, and Lavitz, did they receive this email around the same time last year? I was confused when I got this, because I haven't submitted my signed tax returns yet. Are tax returns not required for the initial aid offer?Winston1984 wrote:Just got an email saying Cornell received my financial aid sheet. That information should be on your needaccess/fafsa anyway; the tax returns are just needed to back up what you entered on the forms.Winston1984 wrote:Haven't either.
