Second the idea of a poll. I'm leaning toward a studio in Center City but it would be nice to know where other people are thinking of.Masonsmith wrote:Can we start a poll on where we'll all be living? allright ill have a poll up by tomorrow. I'll stop being a lazy and do some research on Penn housing, but in the meanwhile feel free to throw out suggestions for poll options re: where ppl are thinking of living.

Y'all should strongly consider living along Baltimore Ave in West Philly, especially near Clark Park. Had a friend live there who I visited a few times and it's really beautiful!

It's my favorite place in the city--great farmers market, 15 awesome cafes in walking distance, very short trolley ride to the law school (or 15 minutes' walk), close to some of the best Vietnamese and Ethiopian food around. Lots of awesome housing options in beautiful old Victorians.
Definitely a vibrant area. Prices are very reasonable too.

thanks for the tip, bagel! I just checked out some of the craigslist listings on baltimore ave, and some of them looked awesome. the prices also seemed super reasonable, so that's always a plus.everything_bagel wrote:Y'all should strongly consider living along Baltimore Ave in West Philly, especially near Clark Park. I'm a 1L who decided to live in UC. It's great to be able to fall out of bed and walk to class. On the other hand, CC has so much more going on. Which of those you value more should inform your decision imho.

Is anyone thinking about taking on roommates and living in a rowhouse? It seems like that's the cheapest option and as a broke K-JD that might be the most prudent option for me haha

I always thought of anything north of Baltimore, south of Chestnut and east of 45th as being pretty good.schmelling wrote: west philly kind of gets a bad rep. what are the borders of the area we should live?
