This popped up on buzzfeed this afternoon; I can't wait until the accepted students days!

http://www.buzzfeed.com/melissaharrison ... .rjqqXgQMD

Any input from current Chicago residents about where to start?

I've eaten at many of these and all that I see are good recommendations quality wise but the author took some pretty big artistic liberties in calling some of those "cheap".

Me, too. And I LOL'd. I guess it's better than nothing but probably means Chicago is no longer a contender.

you should negotiate regardless, but whether you'll get something is going to depend on what leverage you can bring to the table

Hmm...I have 70th>gpa>50th and 25 thlsat and have 30k (not to alarm you). But I am eligible for need-based aid if that even counts for anything

This. It was shocking how little they seem to be giving outside of the Rubies. I thought my amount was per year at first and I was still disappointed with the amount. I mean, both NYU and Columbia gave me 5x the amount Chicago did. Judging from my visit and friends' testimonials, it seems Chicago has a massive inferiority complex going on with certain schools including Columbia. Does anyone know if a Hamilton could sway them to throw some more cash my way?
Probably.

Not sure why you'd want to go to a school with such a big inferiority complex, though.

total...
oh wow I'm surprised with those numbers but I'd say definitely negotiate. it can't hurt!

edit: I hope that didn't come across as rude, I'm genuinely surprised because I thought they were known for favoring high GPAs. maybe they think you won't come anyway, so they didn't want to throw a lot at you? in that case a negotiation could help a lot!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
