we do on most doctrinals but a lot of long tenured professors DGAF and most seminars just do no forced curve

Can I just say wtf? Super jealous of y'all. Chicago's curve is tight as hell. Most classes are closer to 10/80/10 C/B/A from what I've been able to tell. You've gotta really earn your As here.

Lol Columbia's seminars are usually 70% in the A range.

I mean I could take all seminars, but I'd rather take the occasional b+

Eta: it's also closer to 50%

I think teachers have a lot of discretion in what their curve looks like here

a seminar prof @cls told me she gave too many As and the registrar kicked it back to her for "an explanation"

I heard whether they buy your explanation depends on how much sway you have.

Between keeping up with Trump and just 2LOL in general, I haven't been managing my schoolwork as well. Anyone else the same?

Lolz on your T1 curve privilege. 1L curve is c+ (2.33) 2-3L curve is b-(2.67).

My wife has been distraught, I am rather distracted and both my work and my school work are worse for it.

I'm sorry and I completely sympathize. I'm a permanent resident myself and while my country of origin is less likely than some to be listed by Trump, my friends and I are also worried that Trump may incrementally ban more people. The worse part was that one of my friends told me that there is nothing I can do but go back, should my nation be banned.

I dropped a seminar last semester, because I was sure the professors co-teaching it were total hardasses. I hadn't said anything all semester, and I was about to write really crappy papers, so I was genuinely concerned that I'd end up with a B. I would have been delighted to walk away with a B+, but I doubt that would have happened.

(Also, finally got my last grade back, two weeks and three days after the grade submission deadline.)

I've read more law dealing with his Executive Orders than I've read case briefs for classes!
