Re: 2Little 2Late
I feel like there was significantly more material covered on a per credit basis in non-1L classes...

Well, it's not completely closed. I get to bring an unannotated, untabbed book of the tax code :Sleslieknope wrote:....how do you even do that??! My closed laptop Tax exam is giving me hives, and I get to bring an outline.LoganCouture wrote:closed book tax exam tomorrow, pray for me

Offer and acceptance. Great!WhiskeyAndCupcakes wrote:
I am in for this bet.
That offer is not open for you. I will, however, offer this: If your law school registratr directly mails me an official, unaltered copy of your transcript, I will pay for the transcript. If the transcript reflects your Fall 2L semester lowered your gpa, I will send you $20.Hikikomorist wrote: Is this open to anyone, and can I get cash instead of beer?

This is the kind of thing that just drives me up a wall about law school generally. What's the point of these restrictions? When are you ever going to not be allowed to tab a book in practice?

Re: 2Little 2Late
The Dean of students met with out class, a student asked about law school exam restrictions, and he chuckled and said something along the lines that if a person practiced law in the manner that we test students on the law (racing through everything without using references on subjects that you do not know cold) it would be borderline legal malpracticeEncyclopediaOrange wrote:LoganCouture wrote:Well, it's not completely closed. My reaction when I found out the exam software at the school I transferred to does not allow you to simultaneously look at your outline (open mode)leslieknope wrote:....how do you even do that??! What's kind of fucked up is that two little two credit classes were just as much work as 3 and 4 credit doctrinals. WTF

2L exams have been less chill than I expected. Kind of worried 3L will be similarly disappointing.

There's schools that allow you to look at your exam and outline both on the laptop? We don't even get spellcheck and all outlines have to be paper copies.foregetaboutdre wrote:My reaction when I found out the exam software at the school I transferred to does not allow you to simultaneously look at your outline (open mode)leslieknope wrote:....how do you even do that??! I literally don't care anymore. Final for one class is a paper 7,500 words (but the directions also say 20-30 pages). Made it 20 pages at around 5,000 words. Good enough.

I'm so jealous and upset right now. Examsoft is literally the worst.WhiskeyAndCupcakes wrote:That sucks. We can Ctrl+F our outline on the computer (unless the professor decides differently), and we just write our exams in Word. We aren't allowed to copy from the outline and paste it into the Word document, though.Dr. Nefario wrote:There's schools that allow you to look at your exam and outline both on the laptop?
