Discretionary D- on negotiating skills. You gave away the game for ancillary--at best--improvements. I hope you have a negotiations seminar lined up for next semester.

Current BigLawl game weak. Prolly not good for someone who wants an M&A career.

Especially if it entails merging cheese with bread. :D

taking multiple boring ass doctrinals was such a mistake

very much looking forward to taking useless hyper specific classes next semester (probably going to suck just as much)

15 hours was a mistake in general. I did 18 normally in undergrad so I though nbd. Man was I wrong.

Had 17 hrs this semester. I'll have 21 next semester. Not that bad though, 3 will be during our January mini-term. I'm done with my required skills courses, so mostly bar courses.

LS credits only count for 1.5x UG credits because of finals.

Also, wtf @ RCSO. 38 credit hours is pretty much halfway to a JD - in one year. Why? How?

All of this. During 3L Spring, I will take exactly 10 hours. If possible, I would take fewer.

I'll have 76 hours at the end of this academic year in May. I will need 108 to graduate (2 degrees). As far as how, 1L Fall-15, 1L Spring-17, 1L Summer-6, 2L Fall-17, 2L Jterm-3, 2L Spring-18. I'll have another 6 my second summer and will finish the balance by end of 3L.

Yeah I think I'm going to take a minimum load (9 units here) 2L spring to have fewer exams and make moving/starting work easier (fuck quarter schools) and again 3L spring because I'll need to start bar study probably before school gets out and also because 3LOL

that means i'm loading up now and winter qtr though.

If only this was the case for us. We have a mandatory of both 12 minimum per semester AND 26 in a year.

Sometimes there's an exception to the minimum if you don't need the minimum in order to graduate. Look for that.

This.
I have to take a minimum of 10 hours my final semester. That being said, I am going to lobby to take 6 hours P/F at the business school, stuff like Global Strategic Leadership and Strategy Development. The other 4 hours will probably end up being hyper specific and totally useless law classes or one shitty class like Fed Inc Tax.
I'm signed up for 17 hours this spring though. Almost certainly dropping a class though - haven't decided which one. All my required classes have been completed, so I get to take basically whatever.

We're required to take "practical skills" courses and have an "advanced writing requirement"
Basically that means getting class credit for big fed internship + journal. Apparently we get 2 hours just for being on a journal, which is also cool.

We get credits for journal but they don't count towards our writing requirement

I had to write a long note to fulfill the writing requirement. It was awful.

My school doesn't give class credit for law review. I feel like getting at least a small amount of credit for journal work makes so much sense, especially for primary journals — ofc there are plenty of other positives about being on law review so it's not a big deal, but spending 20 hours per week in close engagement with with academic writing (plus writing a student piece for publication) feels like it should help me with academic requirements a little.

My window for exams starts tomorrow, I do not think that this is going to be a pleasant week.

I hope things turn out better for you than it feels right now.
