Is a resignation letter the standard? I was planning on having a face to face break up with my boss 2 weeks before my quit date to tell her, "it's not you, it's me"

Obviously depends on your office structure, etc, but I would say the standard is to have the discussion with your manager with the letter ready/in-hand

We have a LOT of people quit and it seems that the standard procedure is to talk face-to-face to whoever you report to, but then HR will request to have it in writing. I'm sure having it in writing is all your employer is looking for.

Speaking of TLS mobile, I don't know how you guys use the site on your phone. I have the iPhone 6 and still find the site difficult to use on a phone. The only time I really use my phone on TLS is if I get a PM.

Tuesdays/Thursdays

I will often close my TLS tab, then start to type TLS into the address bar and have to catch myself and stop

Just bookmark TLS. That's what I did.

Speaking of TLS mobile, I don't know how you guys use the site on your phone. I have the iPhone 6 and still find the site difficult to use on a phone. The only time I really use my phone on TLS is if I get a PM.

Because iPhone screens are impossibly tiny, that's why. even though the iPhone 6 is an improvement on the 5th generation iPhones, it's still only 4.7 inches. My phone currently is 5.5 inches, and feels smallish compared to the 5.9 I had before. The numbers don't sound very different but it's a noticeable difference.. especially when you watch videos. Kevin spacey really gets in your face when he's that big

well the decision of when to tell was precipitated today by my boss trying to figure out what group to allocate me to next (i work in consulting). i wasn't going to tell them for another three weeks, and i asked him not to share - hopefully he keeps his mouth shut!

I hope you have better luck than I did! I told my boss then the HR lady at around noon yesterday. At 12:30pm, as I was walking to the restroom, a lady whose name I do not know ran up to me to give me a hug and tell me how upset she was that I'm leaving. Oh.

ughhhhh misery. he just needs to not talk for 2 weeks!! i don't have faith in him but it would have been so awkward to not say anything today during this deep conversation and then to drop it on him in a few weeks, so i went for it.

what do you care? I'm honestly glad I don't have to pretend to give a shit anymore to anyone around here
