Lavitz,
Thank you for the parking information earlier. Sorry I still do not understand the formatting/quoting.
Anyhow, $750 a year to just park my car...seems rather expensive. Are there parking lots far away that could be had for cheaper?
Also, historically, has Cornell's 1L class always been somewhere around 200 people? Does this ever change drastically. A bit curious about this.

Settlers is great stuff! It's 100% the gateway drug of board games.Vermonster wrote:Have you played Settlers of Catan? That gets so intense hahazhenders wrote:Any board game interest out there, out of curiosity?

Excellent -- Catan will happen.
@hodzdoh: I just acquired a pretty killer MGS version of risk which will be coming with me to Ithaca. Just saying.

So I didn't get a meal plan. I told myself I would cook at home, but that failed miserably considering my bad time management/impatience with cooking, and in retrospect I wish I had gotten at least a small one. So that being said, I would definitely consider the meal plan if you are like me and don't like cooking or if you aren't one who wants to spend a ton of time cooking. It's still a bit expensive, but if you find yourself eating at one of the CTown establishments everyday....i mean it's probably the same.hodzdoh wrote:anyone know the most efficient way to go for dining? should we get meal plans at all? or wegmans all the way?

Question for those that plan to live in Hughes and cook at least a meal a day, where do people keep their food? In the general fridge? And does it ever get busy around lunch or dinner to the degree where youre waiting a long time to cook? Never shared a kitchen With this many peopleee.runthetrap1990 wrote:So I didn't get a meal plan. I had a mini-fridge in my room. They offer to let you rent one from some company, but I brought my own. The general fridge can get crowded / I don't trust people.ithrowds wrote:Question for those that plan to live in Hughes and cook at least a meal a day, where do people keep their food? I never had to wait.

Not that I know of. Maybe in the commons, but if you're parking that far away, you must be living pretty far.TheatreofDreams1 wrote:Anyhow, $750 a year to just park my car...seems rather expensive. Are there parking lots far away that could be had for cheaper?
Yes.TheatreofDreams1 wrote:Also, historically, has Cornell's 1L class always been somewhere around 200 people?

I submitted my first deposit about 2 weeks ago and I haven't gotten any information regarding a NetID or housing from Cornell. Is there something I'm missing here? And is it too late to get into Hughes Hall? I'm planning on calling them on Monday.

No one has a NetId yet so no worries. Have you applied for on campus housing? Go to the first page of this thread for info/application linkpenguinJAM wrote:I submitted my first deposit about 2 weeks ago and I haven't gotten any information regarding a NetID or housing from Cornell. When I go to the housing portal it asks me to log in with either my Cornell NetID or my Cornell Application ID. I don't remember ever getting a Cornell Application ID. I'm sorry if this is obvious.hairbear7 wrote:No one has a NetId yet so no worries. Have you applied for on campus housing? That's because you get your Cornell Application ID once you start filling out your app.penguinJAM wrote:When I go to the housing portal it asks me to log in with either my Cornell NetID or my Cornell Application ID. +1. Ever try 2-minute blitz games? That shit really tests your end-game abilities hahazhenders wrote:Definitely counts -- this will happen.Yeezus wrote:Chess, if that counts.zhenders wrote:Any board game interest out there, out of curiosity?
Side note: anyone looking forward to checking out some of the state parks / hiking trails in the area? A couple 2L's at ASD mentioned its nice to be able to get awa y from the law school every once and a while

CFC, definitely. I'm actually really excited about getting to live in that part of the state for 3 years; one of the things I was really dreading about law school in NYC or Chicago was having to give up the outdoors so soon.
I'll be in Ithaca early (mid-July for work) and I'm excited to get to have a good chunk of summer to explore/hike/climb/etc.

Me tooo! I like climbing stuff, it's going downhill that I don't like so much. Unfortunately, I won't be in Ithaca too early - maybe like mid August assuming I'm invited to the AOP. Still, I'd love to explore a little before the semester/on weekends via day hikes!Yeezus wrote:Same here.
