Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
Today is definitely a Hulu kind of day. Anybody got good plans for the weekend?
A music festival is going on this weekend, but I don't want to pay that much to go sit in a cloud of weed smoke.

I'm a music lover but have never been into live music -- sounds weird, I know. But it's just too damn expensive. Shit, I love jazz and live a 3 minute walk away from one of the best jazz supper clubs in the US, but have only been twice in three years.IsThisForReal wrote:Today is definitely a Hulu kind of day. it will be 90 something degrees this weekend where I am at, might get in some pool time (depending on how long my pasty skin can hang

Going to be mid-70s in NYC tomorrow--that's boozing in the park weather.

It is 4:10 on a Friday and my boss is not letting us leave early because "we should use this time to train people."
Needless to say, no one is actually doing that.
Just 2.5 more months.

Boss is interviewing my replacement this week.
Guess I should start hunting for a place to live in the fall.
Anybody wanna be my roomie?

Spending the morning working on a spreadsheet to calculate how early I can possibly quit and still have enough money to survive. I'm getting paid to figure out how to GTFO!

Just officially bumped my quit date up two weeks, and by officially I mean booked flights to Florida for the second week of June. It really can't come soon enough.

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
Just picked my final date (May 26 - gotta get that paid Memorial Day in) and am working on a resignation letter. The first thing my boss asked was what did I want to do as a going away party. He's the coolest boss I've ever had, really going to miss being under his direction.
This weekend I flew 1,000 miles to visit and sign a lease for an apt. near my most definitely school which I am ready to break if my waitlist school decides to make the right decision.
Why do they do this to us? As if I needed another stressor in my life. Happy fkn Monday.

I spent several hours today ordering car parts - about a weeks pay worth. Gonna be in debt for the rest of my life. Might as well have a cool car to drive.tuxedocat wrote:Spending the morning working on a spreadsheet to calculate how early I can possibly quit and still have enough money to survive. Just had my meeting with my supervisor and handed her my resignation letter. Going away party planning now in effect. Bittersweet because I like my job and the people I work with.

For the people who had to give resignation letters...how do you write one?! I have never had to do it and I'm really surprised they requested on because my office is super casual.

Is a resignation letter the standard? I was planning on having a face to face break up with my boss 2 weeks before my quit date to tell her, "it's not you, it's me"

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
Obviously depends on your office structure, etc, but I would say the standard is to have the discussion with your manager with the letter ready/in-handCaptainJapan wrote:Is a resignation letter the standard?
