Re: NYU c/o 2018
Not sure if this is why you're looking for it, but this might be useful...
When I submitted my housing application, it listed my permanent address as my current address and my current address was blank, and I wasn't able to edit either. I called the school and they said that it was a glitch in the system and, just to confirm, read the information they had for me in the actual system and it was correct. They said it wouldn't be an issue and that the system would update in the near-ish future, and that I should submit my housing application regardless of it listing the incorrect info.

This is probably a stupid question, but how did you all submit your tax returns? Via fax or regular mail?
I looked over my award and can't find the fax # - is it the regular finaid office fax?

Got in off the WL yesterday. Received my financial aid award this morning and it blew me away. Twice what I was expecting.
Barring a surprise from Harvard, I think I'll be heading to NYU this Fall.

Congrats! Same situation here--got more aid from NYU than any other T14 and am waitlisted at Harvard, but don't hold out too much hope there. I'll be making a quick visit to campus the week of May 18th before I decide on housing.White Dwarf wrote:Got in off the WL yesterday. Received my financial aid award this morning and it blew me away. I'm all signed into my NYU email, have my housing down, and I feel like I should do something now. but I don't know what. Just wait I guess.

About how long did it take to get everyone's ID/Email after depositing? Deposited last week after getting off the WL and am hoping to get my ID so I can register for NYU housing before the priority deadline.

Probably going to miss the Housing Deadline. What usually fills up first, the nice apartments or the cheap ones? Hoping to grab a spot in a triple.

Just to make sure, there's no deposit due with the housing application, right? For some reason I thought there would be.

As far as I can tell, you need your university ID number, which you only get after you deposit. I'm waiting on mine now... If anyone knows differently, I'd love to hear it!axel.foley wrote:Just to make sure, there's no deposit due with the housing application, right? For some reason I thought there would be.
I did just get in touch with the admissions office though and they said that unless you're requesting something super specific like family/disability housing, it's no big deal if you submit your housing app in the next week or so.

Re: NYU c/o 2018
Deposited on Monday. Sent out an email asking to get my NetID expedited (they normally say 3-7 business days) so I could apply for housing before the soft deadline. Was told they would do their best. Logged on this morning and was able to get my NetID and housing application in. Very happy.
I ended up withdrawing from all waitlists last week, save Columbia and Harvard (goodbye UPenn, Chicago, UVA, Duke, and Michigan). Would have withdrawn from CLS and HLS as well if NYU had offered me any aid at all. I mean, I'm still begrudgingly willing to shoulder the $200k+ load of debt to attend my original #1 choice (NYU), but if there's an option that doesn't involve such a substantial financial hole, I may take it. Unless that miracle offer happens, I look forward to seeing all of you beautiful people in the fall

Re: NYU c/o 2018
Hey all, quick logistical question.
Found this on the site:
"The academic year license period for JD1 students will begin on August 19, 2015. All JD1 students are scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, August 19 2015, and will be charged the appropriate early arrival rate (August 19 to August 22, 2015)."
This means that the 19th is the earliest day we can move in, correct? According to the academic calendar, orientation is from the 19th to the 24th - is there likely anything to be scheduled for the 19th? When do I actually have to be in New York by? I'm moving across the country and I've got some traveling plans, so I really need to figure out exact dates.
EDIT: found http://www.law.nyu.edu/studentaffairs/orientation but can't log in. Neither my original admitted student or NYU home log in info works.
