Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
I don't know if I should solicit or wait. I feel like I am just being impatient and don't want to jump the gun, but I don't want them to run out of money and forget about me either. Thoughts?
Also what would you even say in an email? I feel like you can't just be like "Hey i'd like some money too plz."

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
so whats the TCR on the scholly response (just got mine as well) - go with the max?
ETA: Also, if there are other offers, though lower than what I would request from Georgetown, should I include them in the letter or would that give them incentive to just match those low offers?

I asked for 2 million dollars, does that count as "reasonable"?Gray wrote:Go with max reasonable I guess. Like I know I can't ask for a full ride when my GPA is 3.2.accessislife wrote:so whats the TCR on the scholly response (just got mine as well) - go with the max?

Did you solicit from the admissions or finaid office?

I gave an actual figure that, by using the data on LSN, I feel is reasonable for what I bring to the table. Georgetown is one of my top choices due to family in the area/fiancee and I wanting to end up in D.C., so I made sure to let them know that.franny90 wrote:along the same lines, are you guys naming an actual figure or being more vague/giving a range?accessislife wrote:so whats the TCR on the scholly response (just got mine as well) - go with the max?

I wasn't invited to apply for a scholarship, and I submitted need access within the last two weeks. I'm cautiously optimistic that I will get a need-based offer given my age and finances. Should I wait for my need-based package to come and then solicit consideration for merit aid, or just go ahead and reach out now?

Definitely solicit now. Need based and merit, coming from two different departments, have basically no bearing on each other. I sent in a note soliciting a few days ago and I got the email today.DrSpaceman wrote:I wasn't invited to apply for a scholarship, and I submitted need access within the last two weeks. Did anyone applying GLS get a response yet? I haven't heard anything from them since I submitted my application 2 weeks ago. Wondering how fast the spaces are filling up?

Can we talk about the Scholarship Intent to Register Form for a second?
It's due April 1, and you either have to agree to pay the deposit by May 1, or else waive the deposit but withdraw all acceptances/applications/WLs.
Is there a reason why you couldn't sign the SIR, but then withdraw on say, April 25, b/c you received a higher scholarship from another school? Would you still have to put down the deposit on May 1 if you've decided to go elsewhere?

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Hey guys, how long did it take to get credentials on the admitted students site? I called the help desk and was able to get my Net ID over the phone, but they wouldn't give me my U ID which is necessary to be able to fill out the Yellow Application. Is the Yellow Application necessary for scholarship awards? I haven't received any email yet and idk if it's because I haven't filled that out yet (I filled out need access and Fafsa forever ago, and I should definitely be eligible for need-based aid). I was admitted a little over 2 weeks ago...is it too early to solicit/does the Yellow Application need to be completed first? haaaaalllpp
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
