Ugh still no response from Cornell regarding scholarship negotiation, even after calling yesterday. I'm still going to deposit, but it'd be nice if I heard back before the deadline.

In the same situation, it's very frustrating.YeezusPiece wrote:Ugh still no response from Cornell regarding scholarship negotiation, even after calling yesterday. I'm still going to deposit, but it'd be nice if I heard back before the deadline.
What did they tell you when you called? Just to keep waiting?

If the Hughes contract only lists 3 occupants, that's the max right? Like it can't really be a 6 person suite but the last 3 haven't been assigned yet?

Yeah, more or less. They said I should be hearing back "soon" whatever that means.supersplittysplitter wrote:In the same situation, it's very frustrating.YeezusPiece wrote:Ugh still no response from Cornell regarding scholarship negotiation, even after calling yesterday. Deposits paid here, too -- I'm all in. Looking forward to meeting in the fall!
Also: it looks like I'll be moving up to Ithaca a bit early for work(mid July) -- if anyone else will be in town early, shoot me a pm.

"mean anything"? the sections represent your cohort, so you will be assigned to one along with ~30 other 1ls who you will have classes with for the whole year.hodzdoh wrote:anyone know if class sections A-F mean anything at all?

i think you get assignments later in the summer and at that point it dictates your classmates, schedule, and professors. you can post sections and upperclassmen will give you a rundown of what the pros and cons are of each.

One of the 3L's at ASW mentioned intramural soccer and an indoor place to play in the winter...if I wasn't convinced at that point, I definitely was immediately after haha. Can't wait to get out and play in the fall!usn26 wrote:Deposited. Inching closer to Cornell... looking forward to catching up with my old soccer league

Yeah, I could be tempted into campus soccer if they have it, especially if it's outdoor and I can play GK (only way I won't get hurt). But for indoor, the adult league in Dryden that plays in the local school gyms is awesome.CFC1524 wrote:One of the 3L's at ASW mentioned intramural soccer and an indoor place to play in the winter...if I wasn't convinced at that point, I definitely was immediately after haha. Can confirm this. I dabbled in intramural in the Fall and played in the Indoor Soccer League during the winter. There are actually several teams that play from the school both indoor and outdoor.CFC1524 wrote:One of the 3L's at ASW mentioned intramural soccer and an indoor place to play in the winter...if I wasn't convinced at that point, I definitely was immediately after haha. Ironic because our GK during 1L was the only one who got injured.usn26 wrote:Yeah, I could be tempted into campus soccer if they have it, especially if it's outdoor and I can play GK (only way I won't get hurt).

Deposited and super excited to attend!
Since we are talking about IM's, does anyone here play basketball? I'll be trying to put a team together

I used to be pretty decent once upon a time. I'll try to get myself to a point where I'm not an embarrassment by the time fall rolls around.hairbear7 wrote:Deposited and super excited to attend!

Wish there was IM softball but can't imagine that would be a thing in Ithaca given the weather?
Also for anyone who knows anything about Hughes - random question but does anyone clean common areas? I.e. kitchen and bathrooms? Or are we responsible for those?

He cleans the stovetops too and replaces the paper towels. The bathroom cleaning includes taking out the trash and replacing the toilet paper and soap.toothbrush wrote:someone cleans bathrooms and kitchen; i think kitchen limited to like cleaning trash and the floor. you wash your own dishes though, in theory. lavitz please correct me if wrongithrowds wrote:Wish there was IM softball but can't imagine that would be a thing in Ithaca given the weather?

We do. It's not on that page because it's only in the Fall. http://recreation.athletics.cornell.edu ... ball_0.pdf
Our class had a team. It sparked our rivalry with the business school.
