Is the yellow app necessary before they will start considering you for merit aid?

I tried to solicit last week (like tuesday maybe) and I didn't even get a response... Bad sign?

Hopefully it just means they are super busy. Definitely interested to see what they'll say...I was thinking about contacting them too but I'm waiting until after I negotiate with some other schools.

Did everyone who heard today have the "deadline" of hearing back from them by March 13th? Or was it earlier? I got my scholarship feeler email a few days after the big wave so i'm not sure if i'm on the same timeline or not and I didn't hear today! Thanks!

Same here. Hoping they got to a few applicants, but still have some offers left to give before that mid March deadline

I am pretty sure that the yellow app is only for need based aid.

Got scholarship info yesterday. Now I see why they wanted to get on the phone to warn me beforehand...their offer wasn't competitive with my other offers so I am withdrawing. Good luck to everyone else still seeking $--I've really enjoyed this group. If everyone at GULC is like you guys, it will be a great place to go to school.

Opps. My scholly info was in my junk mail folder, and was sent yesterday. I received a little more than what I asked for. It was quite generous, and I'm thrilled!

Did your email say you need to send the intent to enroll form AND your first deposit by April 1, or did it just say the intent to enroll is due April 1?

Intent to Enroll is due April 1, and you have to check a box stating that you'll either pay the deposit by May 1, or waive the first deposit but agree to withdraw from all waitlists and decline all offers.

169/3.73 and I was accepted in early November. I also attended ASW in January so they definitely know I'm actually interested...oh well, hopefully i'll get an offer next month!

Those who have tried to solicit scholarship consideration - did you include your other offers in your email or just mention that you want to be considered for merit aid and save that for negotiation purposes?

Yeah. I'm pretty sure that you are always allowed to accept a waitlist offer or go with another school where you also deposited.

Not sure that is correct. Second page of scholarship letter I saw states "if you qualify through the Office of Financial Aid for a need-based grant of more than $XXXXX, you will receive the higher amount instead."

May want to check last paragraph of letter for the above language. Your letter could be different. But letter I read seems to clearly indicate you get the higher of merit or need based award if you receive both.
