Re: Rainbows and Sm1Les: Everything Is Totally Fine
At this very moment I am like a negative 10 because fuck this brief and I am melodramatic. Overall during law school probably like a 9. I'm no longer working four jobs like in undergrad so I feel like I have a ton of free time, I like my classmates a lot, I love love love Charlottesville and my set-up here, and

Yeah that sounds annoying. At least you're not dumb because then maybe it would be super hurtfulIsThisForReal wrote:I just wanted brown hair so people would stop telling me blonde jokes
I attempted to get blonde hair as an ugly 11-year-old by using a lot of Sun-In. It went about as poorly as you might imagine.

Re: Rainbows and Sm1Les: Everything Is Totally Fine
meh, law school isn't any happier or sadder a time for me than most of my life has been so far
Positives: live with SO, not an exhorbitant amount of work, chill sociable classmates, DC is cool, did alright enough that I probably won't be unemployed
Negatives: less fun and more work on balance than undergrad, more work than my joke of job (though more fun), anxiety is not good (probably a getting older thing though and not a law school thing), don't really take enough advantage of DC being cool, cant stop procrastinating things
So like a 6 probz

Anyone have a suggestion for a new poll?
I, for one, am shocked that TLSers are overwhelmingly above average by yet another measure.

I'm around 7.63. I would be better with some furry animals running about, but they would not appreciate being locked in a a dungeon-like english basement for the majority of the week. I'm at an impasse.
Congratulations PnJ! Gonna rub elbows with some Rams players...Oh wait.
I actually used sun in and ended up with a lovely palate ranging from the aforementioned copper to a lovely bright orange. I said it was from spending the summer at the pool.Gray wrote:I used the hair bleach that my mom used to lighten her eyebrows and got like a nice streaky chunk of copper in the front of my hair and then lied and said it was sun in.

Re: Rainbows and Sm1Les: Everything Is Totally Fine
Definitely a solid 8-9 right now. Killed first semester (likely top 5 in my class) and this one seems to be going even better thus far. Got a great PI internship locked up early on. Law school is not as bad work wise as I was expecting, though I came in with very low expectations regarding my quality of life. I think being a bit older, and spending significant time in the real world gave me a better perspective going into school compared to my classmates who are k-jd or only a year or two out of undergrad. In my former life I was working at a very stressful 50-60 hours/ week on average with some weeks at 70+ pulling in 30k. with no raise over the past 3 years and no room to move up or lateral. No matter how hard I worked I never felt like I was truly succeeding or getting ahead, just keeping my head above water, living check to check.
I put in a lot of work at school but the difference now is less stress and more reward in the form of good grades. I love the challenge and intellectual stimulation. I am definitely one of those weirdos that find school work fun. I am excited about how much I am learning and how my skills have improved. I also think my work experience helped ground my expectations job wise. Starting a new career at 45k would be a blessing! I have a full-ride at a T2 (the school actually does very well getting students jobs in our local market, which is where I want to work) with stipends and passive income that helps with living expenses, so debt wont be a huge issue. Law school gave me a way out of a serious rut, with promise of a decent middle class future. Life is Good!

It would be really great to lock down a 1L summer internship. Still waiting on an in-house gig I interviewed with, have spring OCI interview next week, and a couple of other things out there. Overall happiness at a solid 4. Can this year be over with?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
