I think he said elsewhere that the problem is he only wants to date hot girls or something, and won't date girls who are as attractive as he is.

I don't like dry wine, which is why I asked which you prefer in order to answer your question.

You wouldn't go wrong with an inexpensive zinfandel from any grocery store.

What's your threshold for inexpensive?

Sorry, um I don't drink it much but I thought there was a brand called Zinfandel something. That stuff only comes from Cali. Barefoot brand is okay.

There's like a peach colored glazed bottle, but for the life of me I can't remember the brand.

Wow lots of great options with that price point. Try the Decoy Cab. It's usually priced in the low 20s but can occasionally be had for under 20 during sales.

Pennsylvania. Have to get it in a liquor store. Can only get beer at special stores or bars, or grocery stores only if the store also has a restaurant component.

I really want to acquire a bottle of a really expensive wine, and then fill it up with something cheap that has a similar taste profile, and give it to my friends who purport to be wine snops to see if they can tell.

They've done experiments framed pretty much exactly as above, and people can't tell. A lot of how we taste food/drinks is based on how we expect it to taste.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
