Submitted Deposit - Excited for Chicago and to be attending in the fall!

I'm looking for anything right on the red line from Fullerton to Addison. You can get way more bang for your buck if you live east of the red line and take a bus to school, but I won't have a car and want to have easy access to the city. So I'm sacrificing quality for access, I suppose. My budget for a 1br is about $1,300 and for a 2br is $1,600. Surprisingly haven't found anything great along the red line in these price ranges yet.

Very bittersweet making my deposit... I wanted to feel the moment of 100% triumphant joy that my glorious future was laid solidly at my feet. Not so much :/

Somebody who understands Chicago--if I go to NU (still not sure where I'll be), would Southport Corridor be a reasonably convenient place to live? I'm looking at a place in that area, and it's not super far from the red line. Would busses likely be accessible from there as well?

Who all is just paying for Streeterville because of convenience?

Google maps transit is pretty accurate for figuring out travel times on the CTA, except for buses at rush hour, which are less predictable and don't really run on schedule.
Make sure to investigate routes at different times/days, since there are express buses that probably aren't running if you're getting transit directions from google maps at midnight on a Saturday.

Nope-- I actually requested with a reasonable basis for an increase and was denied. It sounds like they honestly really want you. Congrats, whatever you chose/choose

Did those of you who deposited get (1) an email that payment was received (from the payment vendor, I think QuickPay), and (2) an email from NU that your candidate response form was received once you submitted it, but no email from NU Law along the lines of "we received deposit and your seat is confirmed" or "congrats and we're excited you're joining our community" etc etc....I thought once I actually handed them money they might finally respond to me!
