That's the hope, but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't until Tuesday or Wednesday.lc39 wrote:So...first financial aid notifications should be out today??

For those who've received their admit packages, do they get sent to your permanent or current mailing address? I would initially assume current mailing address, but I've found that the address that the mail is sent to has been different based on the school. Thanks in advance!

Re: Harvard Law School Class of 2018
Anyone know how long it takes to get the HLS email? Does that come in the admissions packet, or separately? Am I correct in thinking you need the JD email in order to start the need-based aid application?
(I realize some of the information is probably earlier on in the thread, but I figured I'm not derailing anything by asking, especially since there are some new peeps here, like me).

For those who just did ASW: If you were undecided before but are now set on HLS, what pushed you over the edge?

No email for me and JS2 was yesterday. I'm sure cause I checked my call log again hahaha. Others ITT have obviously gotten emails, but to my knowledge the batch for this latest wave hasn't gone out yet.dylar wrote:Thrilled to be checking in with my first post!
Got my JS2 this morning-- has anyone gotten the email yet? Paranoia is really starting to kick in...

What's the deal with Harvard and ASW travel stipends these days? I read somewhere that they offer 50-200?

Just got the financial aid offer email. I was really surprised at the quick turnaround since I only went complete last Thursday.

Have people been able to negotiate in the past?

Not embarrassed to admit that I've been lurking this thread for a while, and it seems like most people in the 2/5 acceptance wave got their emails ~8 days (or so) after their JS2.mujiali wrote:No email for me and JS2 was yesterday. Re: Harvard Law School Class of 2018
Actually they claim that they don't even negotiate. If your Stanford or Yale need-based package is significantly different than your Harvard one they will go back and check their calculations to confirm that they haven't made a mistake but other than they they say if the difference is based on a difference in criteria they won't change it.psychmusic wrote:I think they'll consider appeals with offers from other need-only schools. I know there is one other need only school in the 15-20 rankings somewhere (UT?), but other than that it's really just Stanford and Yale. The SLS people I've spoken to seem to say that their offers were pretty close to identical, with SLS being slightly higher due to the cost of living. If you have offers from two of the three that are far apart, it would be worth appealing. Otherwise you have nothing to negotiate in their eyes.Fred Norris wrote:Have people been able to negotiate in the past?
Now the difference between what they actually say and do might be a different story.
