Gotta love staying at the office till 9pm redoing all your old work to prepare for cases that are inevitably going to settle in the next two weeks. Sometimes I feel like I'm already working Biglaw.

SO HAPPY THIS THREAD EXISTS.
I really thought I was the only one. Not officially bouncing from work until like July =/

This is thankfully my last day of classes, and then a couple easy finals in the next couple weeks (confoundingly lined up with the Saturdays of ASWs...) and I am done.

Halfway through Anna Karenina in just a few days of reading at my desk. Getting lots done, as you can see.

I've got enough leave to take me out until the end of May...enough money stashed in savings to make it until school starts and my VA benefits start rolling in...but no one will answer my emails about getting out. I die a little bit more every day at my desk. Freeeeeedom!!!!!!

Jelly! I haven't quite worked up to bringing a book in with me, but we're getting close. I can't just browse TLS all day forever!

This sounds like a great excuse to skip work. "Stuck in an elevator, soooo annoyed about it!" *googles how to make an elevator get stuck*rion91 wrote:my boss just got stuck in an elevator at the state's attorney general's office. wow

I know, this is a rare treat at our office though, normally unless they are required to give the holiday off, we work :/
The firm next door are the lucky ones, anytime courts are closed for any holiday, they also take it off. They even got Cesar Chavez day off lol

Sorta worried I might not be able to return to being a productive, focused human being after half a year of non-stop pure slacking

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
Yeah, I've definitely thought about this. Makes me wonder if I'll be able to handle a lifetime of a profession filled with workaholics. To be fair though, all this slacking is making me kind of miserable, and I'm looking forward to having a goal to work towards. I just suck at getting myself to do things without external motivators.Hand wrote:Sorta worried I might not be able to return to being a productive, focused human being after half a year of non-stop pure slacking
